Jared and Lily met at a speed dating & dance event in Provo, Utah. Jared asked Lily to dance because he thought she was cute, and afterwards he asked for her phone number. Lily wasn’t sure she’d hear from him again, but after the dance he called her and invited her over. Lily thought, ‘why not?’ and took a few friends with her to his apartment. While she was there, Jared decided he liked Lily and chose to show his interest by teasing her. A week later, Jared asked Lily on a date. The day after their first date, he came back to her apartment for a breakfast date, and then again that night for a dinner date, and the next day, and the next, and the next.

Before Lily and Jared met, Lily had accepted an internship in London for the summer. She was worried this would drive Jared away, but to her relief, it didn’t. While Lily was in London, Jared came to visit her and asked her to marry him, which she happily accepted! They will be married in the Saratoga Springs Utah Temple on August 22, 2024 for time and all eternity.
