Our Wedding

How and when we first met depends on who you ask! Our first initial conversation happened in October of 2020. It was right after Bible Study on a Thursday night. Joe walked up to me and asked me where my brother, Caden, was at. I thought the question was kind of weird because Caden hadn't been to Bible Study that much, but I did not think anything of it at the time. Only for me to find out that Joe was just trying to find a reason to talk to me. We slowly started becoming friends from then on. We sat together in different classes and spent our free period working on math together. Joseph came to the Turkey Trot that I ran, and we even bumped into each other while I was walking my dog, Rivir. I stood outside talking to him for two hours in the cold weather. I ended up getting sick with a fever and did not go to school the next day. December of 2020 he asked me to go film a movie with him in town. After that we started going to a bible study in Bakersfield once a week, officially having our first date on Valentines day of 2021.

How We Met 

During the first year we got to go to our first formal together. To put it simply, it was magical. Above is a photo that the photographer caught of us, sitting together and talking while everyone danced. To finish out junior year, we had a class beach trip that was super fun. We then went to Hume, finally entering into senior year going to different schools. At first it was different and a little hard, but we adjusted. We ended our senior year with our last formal and our very last trip to Hume. Once graduated, we both spent our first year out of highschool going to college and working.

I got off of work on Friday night around 11:30PM. Joe was going to be leaving the next night, so he texted me and asked me if I wanted to hangout and grab food. I told him that I wanted to, but I offered to go to his house since I knew that his friends were spending the night. He told me that it was okay and that he wanted to hangout with just us. We decided to go to Taco Bell since it was really the only place open. We drove to Taco Bell and I got into his white jeep, which we call Alyssa, so we could go through the drive thru. We forgot to get a drink so we swung by McDonald's. Once we were back in the Taco Bell parking lot, we finished eating and sat there talking for awhile. At this point it was getting pretty late, almost 12:30AM! I told Joe that I better get going and got out of the Jeep. He walked me over to my car as he always does and opened the door for me. We have a little ritual where we exchange three hugs and three kisses before I get to my car, and one more car hug and car kiss before we shut the door. When he was giving my three hugs and kisses I thought he was acting a little weird, and even asked him if he was okay, but brushed it off. I got into my car and set my stuff on my passenger seat, and when I turned back to him he was on his knee. I said yes (of course!) and we had a mini-photoshoot in the Taco Bell parking lot at like 1:00AM! It was perfect. ❤
