Lily's POV:
Franklin has been around since I was in middle school, because he was originally Marcus, my brother's, best friend. We have always had fun together, from running at cross country practice together to me tagging along on his adventures with Marcus. In college, we would see each other here and there for my first two years, and he would sometimes give me rides home. The summer after my sophomore year, Franklin started coming by the house more and more, even when Marcus was not around. Franklin asked me to go see a movie with him, and I was alarmed. What did this even mean?? I forced my sisters, Katherine and Kaylynn, to accompany us. They forced me to sit by him. He then asked me to go to the State Fair with him, but I was sick and had to decline. I was still super confused because I had never considered Franklin as something else besides my brother's best friend up until that point. As back to school neared, I needed someone handy to help me move in and build my futon... I naturally asked Franklin if he could help. He was super kind and built the futon while I said hello to all of my friends. As a thank you, I took him to get some lunch. He then asked me "You know our families want us to date. What if we just gave it one good shot?". Shocked, I said "Sure!". The days that followed were filled with a new joy. He helps me get out of my comfort zone, supports me in every way, and I love who I am with him. I thank God everyday for the blessing of this love, which can only be a gift from Him.
Franklin's POV:
After reading Lily's POV, I know you all are probably thinking about how I broke the dating a best friends sister rule and you would be right. Marcus and I got along so well because we were not the most fond of following all the rules especially ones that kids deem as no fun and that entailed us to hanging out a lot in high school. We had the same group of friends and always loved a great adventure and always tried to include new people. We were bonded by a friendship that was derived from the same beliefs and interests such as Christianity, sports, outdoors, and video games. Hanging out with him meant getting to know the family and that's where Lily came into the story. Post high school Marcus and I stayed great friends even though we went to different colleges, but luckily enough Lily went to the same college as me. A few important things to note are that my dad and her Grandfather were close back in the day and my oldest sister was a youth group leader and coach of Lily and Her younger sister Katherine. Which puts even more of connection between us too. Add on top the fact that my mom has been trying to set Lily and I up for years even though we both had significant others at times and finally after a bad breakup for each of us we were both single at the same time. One thing lead to another and I finally caught feelings for this amazing and beautiful girl who just so happened to be my best friend's sister. I talked to him about it to see if he would care and he said he could see it work. After four attempts to go on a date with her to ask her out I finally got a chance and took it. Since we already knew each other, the sparks were flying. One thing lead to another and I was taking a knee for the love of my life. Now I left out some details but ended up writing a whole thesis, so if you are still reading this then I thank you and hope you can see the love God has for us in our story and how you have or will find that other half yourselves.
