If you did not know, Lily and Zane grew up together and lived less than a mile apart...

In elementary school, Lily developed her first crush on Zane in the fifth grade, and Zane was in the eighth grade. Zane went on to high school and Lily's crush was forgotten. While Lily and Zane were both in high school, they ran on the same distance team for track and field. During that time, the two of them were friendly but had no romantic connection. Soon both Lily and Zane went off to college and did not keep in touch.

Years later...

Both Lily and Zane were brought home due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Both of them expected to stay in their hometown for a short time, hoping to return to school and bigger plans. Zane would occasionally stop in at the coffee shop Lily worked at with his friends, and too nervous to ask Lily how she had been doing, he turned to his sister to ask questions. This made Danicka wonder what her brother was up to, but Zane didn't say anything to Lily. Lily and Zane both got more permanent jobs in their hometown and started to envision themselves staying in Cherokee.

A few months later...

Zane discovered that Lily had a photography page where she posted her favorite nature photos. He followed her page and began liking everything she posted. While having a friendly interaction, Lily noticed Zane virtually and wondered how he had been since the last time they spoke. Zane had always been so smart and kind. She knew he had to have been successful in life. She laughed at herself, remembering her childhood crush on Zane in elementary school.

A few weeks later...

Zane liked two of Lily's photos at once, and Lily had just drank two very large coffees. Running on a caffeine high, she decided she would be nice and asked Zane how he had been doing since she had been wondering about it for so long. She sent Zane a simple message that said, "Hey Zane, how have you been? :)". Looking back now, it reads like a pyramid scheme message or hack, but Zane responded with a dry response that read, "I'm doing well. How have you been? :)". Quickly, the two of them began talking nonstop and finally went on a date three months later...

May 2022...

After only 10 months of dating, these two decided to move in together. Lily already had an apartment of her own, so Zane moved in with Lily and her pet turtle, Sheldon. Quickly, the three of these guys outgrew the first apartment and moved into their second apartment in August 2022.

September 2022...

Zane and Lily have twin cats!! After searching and hunting for the perfect addition to their family, they find two. Quickly, this new apartment begins to feel too small, but they are happy as one big happy family together.

One year later...

On September 17, 2023, Zane asked Lily to marry him at Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, in front of their close friends Alex and Garrett! She was speechless and tried to take the ring from Zane after she thought she said yes, but Zane said, "You need to give me an answer first!" She said "yes," of course, and will say yes for the rest of her life.

Our future story...

Zane and Lily will marry on April 24, 2025, in Georgetown, Tennessee, before their family and friends! We hope you enjoyed hearing our silly and happy little love story, and we cannot wait to spend our special day with all the special people in our lives.
