Lin & Mimi met in '89 or '90 in West Palm Beach when Lin requested a Windsurfing lesson on Lake Mangonia, West Palm Beach. We went on to have Windsurfing Adventures & moved to Hawaii to have many more adventures. Mimi lives in Quincy, California w her Husband Thom Hall. Her 3 college age children Kainoa U of Reno-a ski racer, Melia University of Hawaii, & Thommie Hall -University of Hawaii ( DJ Playlist for the reception.)

My little Sister ( I remember the day she was born--I remember seeing her in the bassinet at the hospital.) She was Brunette & I was blonde & my Mom Clara called us "my Chocolate & Vanilla". She is a horse girl, an animal girl so she will be at home @ Yesterday's Spaces Farm vibe. We had a litter of poodle puppies per Kim's dog Tina the Cafe au lait Miniature Poodle, My Silver dog Julie came from that litter. Jump ahead 10 years, she married & had two daughters, Heather & Holli. She has stayed close to home & lives in a Gated Tiny Home Community in Flat Rock, NC as a single Lady keeping seamless friendship with her ex Shane Payne& family. Kim is a very active Grandmother for her 4 Grandchildren Colton, Caylee, Ainsley & Blythe. She has a musical streak & can be spotted playing Ukulele at a family gathering w the Bride(me--Lin Dawn). I might add, I was a Bridesmaid in her wedding. Thanks Kim, for returning the favor!

my very oldest & very dear friend. We met in Wytheville, VA when her family moved in next door to our house. It was 5th grade & we were best buds from school & roller skating in the gym to after school Brady Bunch & Gilligan's Island on Aunt Ann &Uncle Gene's king size bed, to putting on circus acts in our backyard. The neighborhood dog was Cocoa (we loved him so much, a black German Shepard , who loved us fiercely!) Our family hiked @ Big Walker Mountain, admired the Baby Rattlers-a joke my Dad John loved to show newcomers & harmonized to"I've been Redeemed" & other gospel songs all the way home I don't know how we got 8 kids & 4 adults in they're Green Station Wagon. 1976-the Krishingner Family moved to Fletcher & we missed them so we followed them in 1977. We moved to Fletcher & had fun going down sliding Rock & enjoying all the Mtns offer. Stephanie & I went to Europe in 1989 & we had a ball. She speaks beautiful French but at one point in Sweden, I think--she had the whole train laughing w her Disneyesque laughter! All I have to do is a funny facial expression & she laughs. I guess we were exhausted from travel, but I'm sure I probably have that effect on her to this day. I was a bridesmaid in Steph's wedding & vowed to have her return the favor , so here we are 25 years later.. Stephanie & Scott Yager live in Fletcher , NC. Her parents Dr Gene & Ann Krishinger live in Fletcher, her 3 brothers & 2 sisters live either close by or a day's drive form WNC. My second family is the Krishingner Family!

I met Alexis at a Blue Rags Concert when I was living in Charleston, She was living in AVL, raising her two son's & loving the Hippie town AVL used to be where the music was plentiful & town characters really made it a loveable quirky place. We were in the same musical friend group but I didn't get to know Alexis as my dear friend until her boys were raised and going on their way in the World. Raised by a single Mother & a tribe of Musician Uncles , Aunts & cousins. Alexis had the best of both worlds also spending time at her Grandmother's home in Arlington , VA. This bridesmaid's knowledge on so many subjects might even make us winners should she enter the game Jeopardy. A voracious reader, she is super fun to conversate with. I could go on, however she has been a True Blue friend to me. She accompanied me back to my parents home on Prince Edward Island to deliver their ashes in 2019. She stood with me on the Ferry to PEI where I bawled like a baby., so hard to go home the first time without John & Clara. She graciously met my relatives & didn't hard wince when Aunt Emma said "oh no, we can not have Yoga in this house" Stretching! Aunt Emma! We are Stretching. Alexis accompanied me & David to Costa Rica where we celebrated my 60th birthday. She was there 2 days later on the Beach after we finished surfing when David Shaw proposed Marriage to me, I was gobsmacked! She got the first pics of our engagement with the Gloaming on the beach. Thank you, Alexis! I might add, Alexis accompanied me to Hawaii Jan, 2022 for my 59th birthday where we were joined by bridesmaid Mimi Hall. Alexis lives in Asheville, NC on her Mountain Terrace Haven.

We met in College, Southern Missionary College outside Chattanooga, TN. We both tried out for the Gymnastic Team, Shari made the Team & I was a grateful Alternate that got to join. One night we went to a Dance Club in Brainerd, Skywalkers. We heard Madonna's song "I'm Burning Up for your Love" & we caught the Dancing bug! After college, Shari moved to Hollywood & I did a traveling Nurse Assignment out there a few years later. It was great to have Shari show me around LA & put us on the Guest list at Myrons Ballroom aka Club Vertigo run by Princess Stephanie of Monaco. Shari coached me on what to wear. I had to lose the Miami Vice Pastels & learn that every shade of Black is my friend (less is more). We stayed in touch & I visited after she had her son Nakota. Shari is resides w her partner Randall Simpson in Maryland & Los Angelas, California. She is never too busy to drop what she's doing and answer a call from a friend. I love you ,Shari! Thanks for being my friend all these years.

My 2nd College room mate from Birmingham, Alabama. We used to listen to Prince's "I get Delirious" cassette tape in our room. She was so good at Tricolored eyeshadow application, she was gorgeous & didn't seem to be aware of that fact. Such a sweet & honest person,, but she had the Dancin Bug too, YAY! From the speakers of the Limelight in Buckhead/Atlanta to downtown Chattanooga's Alan Gold's , We did some dancin! One of my favorite songs was "Why do you fill me up Buttercup" . We stayed in touch ,a little ,as we lived our lives. A few years ago we reconnected & w our dancing group-Shari , Donna & I on the phone. She lives in Santa Rosa, California & is married to David Schmidt. I love her smile & the way her eyes sparkle when she smiles! I having seen & hugged her in 30 plus years & I am so happy she is coming to my wedding! I love you Pepper!

Meeting Donna goes back to College days at SMC. I think we met Donna at Skywalkers or Fantasy 2000. She was a beautiful dancer. It was the time of MTV & Falshdance & Donna had the moves. Pepper, Shari & I met Donna & we went dancing every chance we got. Fast forward May 14 2011--I was invited to Donna & Matthew Abercrombie's Wedding in Dahlonega, Georgia. It was a beautiful day at a Vineyard celebrating their wedding. Shari & Randall were also in attendance. Donna & Matthew reside is Roswell, GA. Thank you for being in my wedding Donna!

I met Johanna when I worked in CICU at Mission Hospital & that was 20+ years ago. We went to Jazz Fest in NOLA in 2007 along w Alexis & had the best time, especially eating w the Hari Krishna's at the Gloaming. The above picture is GypsyJo walking her Daughter Anna Kate down aisle which I was lucky to witness at her family Lake home in NY, Oquaga Lake. Gypsy Jo is a competing Rower, a Member of the HUG Ukulele group, an Adventurous Potter & world traveler, an active Realtor w Moonriverreality.com, a doting Grandmother to 4, & best of all for lucky me--a wonderful friend, a shoulder to cry on, someone who brought me a beautiful lunch today as I am recovering from cellulitis. I love it when her stories start with "you'll never believe what just happened to me". She tells true life jaw droppers! She is the best kind of friend a girl could ever ask for, thank you Johanna!

I met Valerie in Asheville while working in CICIU when she moved up from Key West. She is originally from Charlotte but she had gone on adventure in her VW bus w her dog Gypsy & drove to Alaska. She also worked in Fort Collins Colorado & I'm sure in her adventurous Spirit, I found a kindred soul. We have taken some trips together over the years, New York City, Hawaii & in 2019 Thailand. I didn't want Valerie to go to Thailand alone, I said "I'm coming with you" although I didn't really know what I was in for. We started out in Chinatown, Bangkok & went to the Floating Market in this crazy old long boat which I was clutching my life jacket, the Captain slowed down by a dock while a Komodo Dragon climbed out of the water--Holy Cannolis! I didn't know what it was then but now I know it can spit saliva that kills you. There was a 13 hour overnight trainride to Chang Mai & the Elephant Rescue Sanctuary, all the Beautiful Buddist Temples & then we flew down to the Islands & experienced the Magical Thai Islands in the South China Sea--swimming with black tipped sharks & the Sunshine Bar in Kho Phi Phi & lastly Koh Lanta--making friends at the Art Sudio & going down to Beautiful Beach at Sunset--it wasn't my Honeymoon but I thought it was the only one I would ever get so I savored every moment & luckily I didn't wipe out on the Scooter, driving on the left side of the road the other side of the Island & then through the hilly windy interior back to our hotel--whew that was quite the adrenal rush for me! You are a dear friend & Confidante , a fellow Nurse who can think critically & ask the pertinent questions when I face a health challenge & love hanging out w our West AVL crew Leah & Evaa. Valerie resides in East West Asheville. I love you ,Valerie, thanks for being there for me always.

I met Wimmer at work, 5 Heart. She is an experienced Cardiac Nurse & so am I. It goes without saying, we've been through all kinds of crazy scenerios together & thats just a day's work. She always has my back & she has had to listen to my love life & lack of a love life woes for literally Years! I am so thrilled to ask her to be one of my Bridesmaids. Karen resides in Candler, NC & her Equine love of her life is a big black Shire named Isaac who resides on a nearby very renowned Estate.

My Beautiful, talented, well traveled neighbor. She hangs w our West AVL girls -Valerie, Evaa & I. We love our trips to Folly Beach SC, Savanah GA & Abingdon VA. We always have lots of laughs & even some Ukulele strumming. Her family is from Kentucky but they also have a cow farm in Haywood County. She is a doting Aunt to her two nephews Cooper & Chase, a loving sister & daughter. She resides across the street from me in West AVL & Up on the Mtn Maggie Valley Way w her boyfriend Tony H. I love hanging out w Leah. She has a special touch in the Garden & I have been long been in Peony Envy of her garden. In fact, Evaa & I recently "lifted" some of her Peonies while she was on a trip to Chile.I am so glad you agreed to be my Bridesmaid. I love you, Leah

Part of our West AVL girl group. I got to know Evaa thru Leah. Evaa is a skilled Massage Therapist, trained in several modalities including Thai massage which is one of my favorites. She puts her whole Heart into her work & the result is so satisfying. She has many regular clients. She mixes her own scents which is an extra treat during my massage-- she will say "Joy" & I will take a couple deep inspirations of "joy" . She is also a wonderful cook & salad maker. Her homemade dressings are always packed w tasty nutritious goodies. I would say Evaa is a beautiful woman who walks in step with Mother Earth. Her happy place is stream side high in the Mountains--a Mountain Mermaid. Thank yoiu Evaa for being one of my Mermaids, I love you.

I met Lacey at work at Mission in AVL several years ago. Lacey is from Traverse City Michigan & I have never met any one from there before. A very passionate & knowledgeable Cardiology Nurse, Lacey was a joy to work with & she was very fun to hang out & hike with when we weren't working. I have had the privilege of meeting on several occasions Lacey's lovely daughter Juliette and together they remind me of modern day Charlie's Angels. In recent years Lacey moved to Cary, NC but she stays in touch & I am honored to have her as my Bridesmaid. I love you Lacey!

I met Lora when she moved to town from Seattle in the early 2000's. I admired her musicianship being a great Vocalist, Banjo player, guitar & Bass player. I got my hair did by her when she worked as a hairdresser in West AVL at Beauty Parade. I played w her in the band "Sweet Mama T & the Red Hot Sugar Babies". I admired her Old Time Ladies Band "Devilish Mary". In about 2009 when Hank Bones & I started a band called Kon Tiki, we invited Lora to be our Bass player & vocalist. Kon Tiki played at the Wedge Brewery for Waterfall Weds for 3 years. It was a magic time of Waterfalling & searching out new swimming holes, eating BBQ & outside at the Wedge every Weds evening. Russ Wilson played percussion & together we were Ling Ling, Lolo (Lora), Ruru (Russ) & Ha! swims w snakes( Hank). Particularly memorable Band trips were Trader Vics Tiki Bar in Atlanta not once but twice & Hank, Lolo & I did 5 days at My Blue Heaven in Key West Florida-- 2 gigs a day- it was a blast performing for the tourists & Island Roosters who were mesmerized by Hank's Lp Steel Guitar. We found time to swim every day! Hank found a will photographer & we got a professional band picture made sipping Kava & one posing in the Jungle which Hank said would be the kiss of death for the band & it was... Sadly, a few years ago Lora moved to Trumansburg, NY & her band Kon Tiki kinda lost the air in their balloon--its just not the same without Lolo. Lora has thrived going back to school to become a Social Worker & putting out an album of her own songs & performing w her partner in Music & love Pat Burke. Its always a good time on the porch &the Mountain when Lora & Past come to town! Thank you Lora, for being my friend , my bandmate & now my Bridesmaid. I love you!

Eboo has been a dear friend since I met her in 2000. She is an accomplished Musician--Vocalist, Multi instrumentalist--plays Mandolin, Old Time Fiddle, Banjo, Guitar & Dulcimer & maybe something else I don't know about. I was in a Jug band w Eboo a few years back, the Big Jiggling Jug Band. Strangely , we were in Demand for children's shows so we changed our name to the Looney Tune Jugband. Eboo has always been a friend to me & a music mentor, encouraging me to have fun & not get my feelings hurt when the Hard core Oldtimers are a little unwelcoming to my Ukulele playing self. Eboo would say well I know the Johnson City Hilltoppers had a Ukulele in their band, come play w us "it's Ok". She made me feel welcome & thats a big deal that I will never forget . In fact, I call her Cuz because she is family. Thank you Cuz for setting the mood for our Wedding with your beautiful Celebratory Mountain Music- it's just the right thing. I love you Cuz!

umm, a Big Fish in a Small pond is what I like to say about Russ Wilson. My dear friend who has made living in WNC so delightful because of the beautiful Jazz Music he sings, plays & Conducts.This guys is the real deal & I'm lucky.
