We met at our local CrossFit gym | V: I first saw Lina doing a weird warm up like some weird Superman and swimming combination. Then proceeded to lift heavy stuff in class. I was amazed. L: Vyron came up to talk to me before and after our classes and I thought he was really nice and friendly. Especially since I was new to crossfit and didn’t know that many at the gym yet.

First Date | V: Our first date was what I thought to be at the Greenpoint terminal market but Lina thinks it was another time. L: He had asked me if I knew about the Greenpoint terminal market and never followed up so I decided I was going with or without him. I told him to invite our common friend (which I found out later he did not invite) so I didn’t consider it a date. A few weeks later he asked me out to lunch and a walk in Prospect Park - that is what I consider our first date.

Dyker Heights Date | V: we had Vietnamese food right before going to Dyker heights. Not a great choice for a first date place. Thank god Lina found food she liked L: One of our first dates I think and I had always wanted to go see the crazy Christmas lights in Dyker Heights so we went one night.

First Trip together - San Francisco | V: Showed her around the bay. I experienced more as a tourist with Lina than when I was living there. L: Our first trip together and it was to visit some of his family, let’s just say I was slightly nervous. But I ended up not having anything to worry about and we had a great time and he was showing me around SF.

Vyron’s First trip to Sweden | V: I brought as much lactase pills since I knew Swedes love dairy. What I didn’t know was they had lactose free everything! L: I was super excited to show him around Malmo and introduce him to my family. The poor guy had basically just landed and we had a family gathering the same night since everyone wanted to meet him.

Lina’s first trip to the Phillipines | V: Wasn’t sure if Lina would be good with all the Asian and Filipino food. But she did really well and ate pretty much everything. L: Amazing trip to Manilla and Palawan! Had incredible food and might have eaten a bit too much of the different kinds of fruit in one sitting… (let’s just say the day after was a bit rough) Can’t wait to go back

Moved in together | V: We had an interesting first few weeks of trying to filter out all our junk. But we managed to compromise a lot. It was a great test to see how well we meshed together. Luckily it worked out L: Vyron secured our apartment while I was stuck in Sweden for a few weeks and we like it so much we are still here after 3+ years. The Shibas really enjoy the big windows so they can judge everyone on the street and tan in the sun.

First CrossFit related trip | V: Lina was caught off guard when I suggested to go to this trip since it was semi-last minute. But it became one of the best and most memorable trip. L: Since CrossFit is how we met and a big part of our lives we tend to go on a fair amount of CrossFit related trips with our friends. This was the first time I saw a big competition and it was incredible.

We are engaged! | V: I was confident going in that I memorized what I was gonna say. As the car got closer to the location I just forgot everything and was so nervous. L: I was shocked. I did not see it coming and had no idea what was happening. He had gotten a photographer to meet us at Piazzale Michelangelo in Florence and it was incredible. We then had a photoshoot all over Florence and it was both amazing and hilarious since we both do not know how to pose in front of the camera.
