Lincoln & Victoria

October 2, 2021 • Austin, Texas

In 2009 Victoria surprised her parents by deciding to go to The University of Texas at Austin to study theater and dance.

In 2010 Lincoln was in Africa for Christmas break when he got the acceptance email from The University of Texas at Austin to study architecture.

In 2011 they met at a play, introduced by Olivia Reep Dunn, he thought she was cute. She was distracted. Later that year they met for real at a party. Victoria thought he was very tall and liked his pearl snap shirt, Lincoln thought she was a tornado and still cute.

In January 2012 Victoria and Olivia were going for a night of 19-year-old shenanigans, Olivia asked if it was cool if Lincoln hung out too, she thought they would get along. They picked Lincoln up at his dorm and went to Mozarts, a coffee shop on Lake Austin.

It was a chilly-ish Austin night and Victoria was cold. Lincoln offered her his sweater but she didn’t need it; she was happy just to stand with him.

They decided to see Haywire, a decidedly terrible movie starring a MMA fighter Gina Carano (recently of The Mandalorian). SPOILER ALERT: There is a scene where a deer comes through the window of the car. It scared the heck out of Victoria and she grabbed Lincoln’s hand. Cliche? She’s jumpy. It was the best scene in the whole movie.

They ended the night canoodling on Olivia’s couch. Olivia always says, “I thought you would get along, but not that well!”

Lincoln asked for her number. He called her a few days later for their first date. Of course, they got lost trying to find parking. Lincoln knew Victoria was something special when she asked for more tapas.

Their second date was to the grocery store.

And the rest is history.
