Crazy to think 5 years ago as complete strangers in a stairwell full of 100 plus people, we would cross paths. On September 9th, 2018 i attended this event called Climb for a Calling ( An event that honored fallen first responders in the 9/11 attack in 2001, where you climb 110 flights of stairs representing the twin towers). I went as a civilian amongst many others while also climbing alongside a roughly 100+ first responders. While waiting for the climb to start, I met this group from Pilot Point (Hayden volunteered there before Carrollton) and was asked by one of the people if I wanted to climb in there group since I was by myself. I said sure, but after getting on the stairwell, I had soon lost that group. As I was on my last go up, I ran into Hayden again, I asked if he wanted to climb along side me and we started chatting about different things, school/ life.. we get to the top and i finish, but he still has one more go up. He asks if I’ll be around after, but I had no idea so I didn’t make any promises. Well sure enough I was still around when he got done. I am helping my mom pack up her booth, when he walks over in front of my parents and asked to exchange numbers, of course I did and from that day it’s been history. Well 5 years later, It’s finally Happening!!!!
