a popular bar among Miami University athletes, in February 2020. Lindsay was a senior volleyball player enjoying her final semester with friends, while Ryan, a freshman hockey player, was soaking in his first year of college life. As we talked, we discovered a surprising connection; when Lindsay was a freshman at Miami, Ryan had just moved to Michigan and attended the same high school Lindsay graduated from one year earlier. Even more coincidentally, Lindsay's best friend and maid of honor, Jennifer, was Ryan's neighbor! Despite the pandemic forcing us into quarantine just a month after we met, we stayed in touch every day. We took a trip to Lindsay's "happy place," Lake Charlevoix, before we officially started dating. It quickly became our special getaway spot, and it was there, a few months later, that we said "I love you" for the first time.

Despite the fact that Ryan had 3 more years of college hockey to play in Ohio and Lindsay was getting her master's in Physician Assistant studies in Michigan, we were willing to do whatever it took to stay together. What can we say? When you know, you know! Ryan only waited 5 days after Lindsay's PA school graduation to pop the question during a family trip to Mexico.

We are so excited to get married in a place that means so much to us, surrounded by the most important people in our lives! We can't wait to celebrate with you!!!
