Our Wedding

It was April 2020, and the world had just shut down. Enter Hinge. Amid the chaos of COVID, we matched and planned a first date, a walk through Freedom Park in Charlotte. Lindsay had to reschedule, and when she asked if another day would work, Thomas said he could “move some things around”, as if his calendar during lockdown was just packed.We met at Park Road Shopping Center, armed with transfusions in Selwyn Pub cups (thanks to Thomas’ solid planning). After a walk full of easy conversation and laughs, we weren’t quite ready to call it a night. So, we grabbed Shake Shack for dinner and extended what would become the first of many great nights together.That spring and summer were filled with days on Lake Norman, long walks, and a lot of takeout. In August, at a friend’s wedding, we made it official.In spring of 2021, Thomas was admitted to Georgia Tech’s MBA program, and without hesitation, Lindsay said yes to a new adventure in Atlanta. During our time here, Lindsay started a new role at her company’s headquarters in Roswell, Thomas earned his Master's degree, and—perhaps most importantly—Lindsay adopted a cat named Moqui, who now runs the household and brings us endless joy.And after what felt like forever (depending on who you ask), Thomas proposed to Lindsay on March 12, 2025 near their home in West Midtown, Atlanta.

Charlotte Douglas International Airport is the closest major airport to our wedding venue — just about 20 minutes away. CLT offers nonstop flights from most major U.S. cities and is served by all major airlines, making it an easy and convenient option for out-of-town guests. Rental cars, ride-shares (Uber/Lyft), and taxis are readily available at the airport for your trip into town.

Charlotte Douglas International Airport

From Charlotte: Gastonia is about a 30-minute drive west via I-85 S. It’s a straight shot — just hop on I-85 and take Exit 17 toward downtown Gastonia. From Atlanta: Expect about a 3.5-hour drive northeast via I-85 N. Once in North Carolina, follow signs to Gastonia and take the appropriate downtown exit for your hotel or the venue.

Wear athletic clothes you don’t mind getting wet, and bring a change of clothes if you’re planning to get in the water!

If you're up for a scenic hike, Crowders Mountain is a local favorite with stunning views and well-marked trails ranging from easy walks to more challenging climbs. The Pinnacle Trail leads to one of the best overlooks in the area — perfect for photos! Wear sturdy shoes, bring plenty of water, and aim for a morning start to beat the heat and crowds. About 20 minutes from Gastonia by car.
