Her Story

It’s crazy to think none of this would have happened if it wasn’t for an incredible coworker turned dear friend. Shelby and I worked together for almost four years and I remember back in 2022 sharing with her the joys of dating in Nashville, lol. She casually mentioned that I should meet her brother-in-law because she thought we would have a lot in common and knew we went to the same church. I kind of brushed it off as a passing comment because honestly, I wasn’t crazy about a setup and definitely did not want to be the one to reach out. :) I got busy with life and forgot all about that until the next summer. In June 2023, Shelby and I were at a work dinner with some of our colleagues when dating came up again. It had been a while since she brought it up but that night she mentioned again “hey, I really think you should meet my brother-in-law, Wesley!” I kind of laughed it off thinking nothing would happen again… Until, when I got home about an hour later, I was shocked to see an Instagram follow request from Wes! I couldn’t believe the timing of it but accepted and followed him back. The next day, he sent me a DM and we started chatting. You know how it goes from here - he ended up getting my number, we started texting, and even talked on the phone for over an hour and a half! And I was so excited he asked me out on that call for the next week!&nbsp; Our first date was on July 11, 2023 at Ole Glory, which is now a very special place for us as it was also where he proposed to me. It was almost a 4-hour date just chatting and getting to know each other. I had no idea about the world of aviation and was fascinated with his career and passion for it. I very quickly could tell that Wes was a loyal, family-oriented, funny, hard-working man and I wanted to see him again. We ended up going on a second date just a few days later before he left Nashville for three weeks of training in Canada. We continued to talk on the phone and text during that time and I couldn’t wait for him to be back. When his training was finally over, we spent the rest of summer going on fun dates - trying new restaurants, watching a baseball game, and even him taking me on a sunset plane ride across the Nashville skyline (just pilot things, totally a Bachelorette moment!). It was so special learning more about Wes and spending time with him!

We went to the Morgan Wallen concert in November 2023, a few months after we started dating. This was the first trip home to Atlanta with Wes and I was so excited to show him my hometown and where I grew up, although he had already met my parents. We got to the concert early enough to listen to the openers, and I’ll never forget when Parker McCollum was singing because this was the first time Wes told me he loved me. I had been so eager to tell him that too and it will always be such a special concert for us. Sooo, I guess at this point you could say, the rest is history… ;) There are so many milestones from our first year of life together that I will forever cherish and a lifetime of memories to make ahead of us. I am beyond thankful for God’s perfect timing in bringing us together to orchestrate this union and I can’t wait to step into this next chapter with Wes as my husband. He has shown me an unconditional love that I have never known before and is the man I have prayed for my whole life.⁃	soon to be Mrs. Kuitems 🤍

His story

If it weren’t for my amazing sister-in-law Shelby, our paths may have never crossed. I will never forget Shelby comforting me during a very difficult time in my life after getting injured in a bad car accident and a relationship ending. I remember saying, “I don’t know why this is so hard.” She answered with “This is so hard because there is only ONE person for you, and I know that whoever that is, we are going to absolutely adore her.” And boy was she right! Lindsay has been the absolute best blessing I have ever had in my life and challenges me to be a better man. I cannot wait until the day comes so we can come together as one in marriage with Christ on our side. There were typical nerves as always on our first date but there was also a voice in my head that kept telling me to just be calm, worst case scenario you meet a new friend! When I arrived to Ole Glory, I was running a few minutes late due to constantly checking my shirt and hair in the car. Along with the nerves, I had quite a time trying to figure out how to pay for parking! Believe it or not, Lindsay was not only ON TIME but she was also early and waiting for me outside leaning on the brick wall. I will never forget her beautiful smile at the door with her wearing a green shirt and jeans and looking absolutely stunning. The only words I could muster up to say was “Hey, Lindsay you look so pretty!” She smiled so big and gave me a big hug. We walked in and got our seat in the booth waiting on our waitress to come over. And then I remember feeling this sense of calmness as we sat there and continued to talk. The best way I can describe it was like seeing a best friend that you haven’t met with in a while and picking right up where you left off. Little did I know I had found my best friend, partner, and wife all in one! :) When the date ended, it was close to midnight. It had lasted about four hours and I didn’t want it to end. I walked her to her car and mustered up the courage to go in for a kiss, thankfully I was cleared to land! ;) I will never forget that night and we now have two memories to share at that spot... where it all began and where she said YES to me forever! I cannot wait to marry my beautiful fiancé! I love you more than you’ll ever know! Since our first date on 7/11/23, I have never been more sure of anything in my life. This woman is going to be an absolutely amazing wife, mother and life partner. Lindsay, you make me a better man and I cannot wait to make it official on 8/23/25. I love you to the moon and back! - Wes ;)&nbsp;
