Where do we begin?

Our love story is non-traditional in so many ways, which we think makes it that much more special.

At the time of writing this, we are close to celebrating a decade together. A decade of laughter, love, learning and everything in between. Here’s a snippet of that story to share with our loved ones ahead of our wedding day:

Jon and Lindsay met at a Labor Day party in September 2013 hosted by a mutual friend. They were put on the same charades team, and Lindsay instantly got annoyed with how poor at charades Jon was. She also noticed, though, how silly he was. And, his smile. Jon noticed how annoyed Lindsay was getting with his lack of charades abilities, oh and her blue eyes and how cool she was.

Fast forward to months of a budding friendship, Tuesday night hangouts at Peculier Pub, some not so great dates with other people, and Jon and Lindsay showing up at a birthday party at a whiskey bar, giving each other the eyes in between grilled cheeses and dancing. After a few too many old fashions, they had their first kiss in front of their giggling friends, kicking off what would be a whirlwind romance.

They danced around the inevitable for a while, sneaking in late night texts and flirty memes. They had their first date in March 2014, after spending many nights already talking about what they love, what they hate and what the future may hold.

Their first date was at the Museum of Natural History in New York City, taking in the planetarium show and some pancakes at brunch. Jon and Lindsay would not want to look at the stars with anyone else but each other ever again. Jon would later propose to Lindsay outside of the same museum.

A decade brings a lot of change in a person’s life. It’s truly a blessing that Jon and Lindsay could go through these changes together – new jobs, new apartments, loss of loved ones, lifestyle changes, physical and mental triumphs and hurdles, holding each others’ hands through it all.

Lindsay loves Jon’s loud laugh, compassionate and generous heart, sarcastic wit, flexibility and understanding, among many other beautiful qualities. Jon loves Lindsay’s kindness, beauty, her fierce care for her loved ones, her intelligence, conversational skills and oh yeah, those blue eyes!

They can’t wait to finally make it official and continue soaking up every drop of life that they can, from traveling across the world to cooking new recipes to seeing concerts and sporting events to learning new skills to running around the park to whatever weird adventure or activity they can discover, as long as they are together.

Cheers to decades more of MackFrosty, and maybe some MackFrosty juniors running around, god help us ;)

Love,

Jon and Lindsay
