What date should I RSVP by?

Keep an eye out for your digital invitation! They'll be going out soon and will be accessed here. Please respond by September 15.

What is the dress code for your wedding?

Our dress code is formal. Women are encouraged to wear a long dress, dressy cocktail dress, or dressy pant suit. Men should wear a suit and tie. Black and jewel tones encouraged but not required.

Where should I park? Do I have to pay for parking?

Grand Valley State University has provided free parking for our guests for the duration of our event and overnight Saturday! Please see the map below for lot location and directions from the lot to our ceremony location. The best address for GPS to the lot is “GVSU Fulton Lot, 312 Fulton Street West, Grand Rapids, MI 49504”. Follow the crosswalk across Fulton Street, turn east and follow the sidewalk until it meets the river, then turn north and continuing along the west side of the river until you arrive at the Blue Bridge. Guests who want the shortest walk possible to the Blue Bridge can be dropped off on Front Street.

What time should I arrive at your wedding ceremony?

The Blue Bridge will be accessible to guests one hour ahead of our ceremony time. We recommend arriving at the ceremony venue 30 minutes before the start time to ensure you have enough time to walk to the ceremony space (located about a 5-minute walk from the parking lot) and find a seat. The ceremony is scheduled to start at 4pm.

Is your wedding indoors or outdoors?

Our ceremony is outdoors on the Blue Bridge. Our cocktail hour and reception will be indoors in the nearby Eberhard Center.

What is the weather usually like this time of year?

The average daily temperature for October 11 is usually 62 degrees. Our ceremony is outdoors so please dress so that you will be comfortable for a 30 minute ceremony. Evenings can drop to about 45 degrees. (That’s 17 and 7 degrees Celsius for our British guests).

Will your ceremony be outside even in bad weather?

We know Michigan weather can be unpredictable! The bride and groom have planned for this and have a nearby alternate venue for the ceremony if the weather is disagreeable. We will make every effort to keep the original plan. If the venue changes, you will be contacted the same way you received your RSVP. Please contact the bride or groom if you need to update contact information.

Are there restrooms available before your outdoor ceremony?

Yes, our reception venue, the Eberhard Center, has restrooms on the first floor that will be open prior to the start of the ceremony. They can be accessed through the red doors on the east side of the Eberhard Center, visible from the Blue Bridge.

Will there be a time gap between your wedding ceremony and reception?

Immediately following our ceremony, our reception venue will be open to guests. The bar will open at 5pm for a 60-minute cocktail hour.

What is the easiest way to get to and from your wedding ceremony and reception venues?

Our ceremony and reception are just a short walk from each other! If you used the recommended parking lot, you walked by the reception building. We will have plenty of signage to get you to the right spot. You will be directed to the right spot after the ceremony.

What time will your wedding reception end? Is there an after-party?

Our reception will end around 11pm. We encourage guests who want to keep the celebration going to check out local bars, many just a short walk from our venue. See our "Things to Do" page for more recommendations.

Where should I stay overnight?

We have listed a few nearby hotels on our travel page, all walkable from our venue. We have many guests who are renting Airbnbs for their stay.

What is the best airport to use?

The closest airport is GRR, just a 20 minute drive away.

Will there be meal options for guests with dietary restrictions or allergies?

Yes! Dinner will be buffet style but our caterer is happy to accommodate any restrictions or allergies. If you haven't already, please make sure this is noted in the designated section of your digital RSVP. We want you to feel comfortable and well fed!

Can I bring my child?

Generally, children have not been invited to our wedding. A few invitations have been extended to include the children of a couple guests who have traveled a great distance to celebrate with us. If you think your child meets this qualification and you would like to request your child be in attendance, please contact the bride or groom.

Are Plus-Ones allowed?

We are not allowing additional plus-ones to our wedding, as we'd like to keep the guests list just to those who know us well. The name of every guest invited to attend is clearly listed on your invitation and no additional guests can be accommodated.

Where should we bring/send our wedding gift?

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would like to honor us with a gift, please check our "Registry" page. Gifts can be delivered to our home or brought to the reception. A wedding card box will be at our reception.

Where are you registered for wedding gifts?

You can find our complete wedding registry here on our website (and purchase directly from our wish list) under the "Registry" tab.

Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?

We kindly ask that you keep our ceremony "unplugged" and refrain from taking any photos or videos at our wedding. We want our guests to truly be in the moment with us during this special time. Guests are encouraged to take as many photos as they would like for the rest of the evening! The bride and groom will have a way for you to share some of your photos.

Are there any other wedding activities happening that weekend that I can be a part of?

The bride and groom are planning to attend the 10:45am Sunday service at their home church, Crossroads Bible Church (800 Scribner Ave NW) located just 1 mile from the venue. We’d love to have you join us!
