Until August 2016, Lindsay and Bobby were on very different paths in life. Lindsay had only months left to go in medical school at the University of Kansas and Bobby was living in New York City after having completed his military service as a Captain in the US Army.

Fate and their friends conspired to bring Lindsay and Bobby together. On her first day in the City, Lindsay was invited to dinner by her friend Mary McCluggage and her now-husband Ryan, who just so happened to be a friend of Bobby's. That was how it began. During that month the two spent a lot of time together but, against all odds and despite Bobby's espoused interest, Lindsay was not so keen on continuing their courtship (medical school can be demanding on one's time, after all).

They went 3 months with very little contact. But, both of them could not quite be rid of the feeling that perhaps there was something they were missing. Lindsay, being the brave one, reached out. That next March, Lindsay was shopping with her mother who, after noticing dozens of text messages to "the boy in New York," basically insisted that she invite Bobby to their family trip to Cabo the next month, or else she'd do it herself. So, she did. Uncharacteristically, Bobby said yes.

They both must have known on some level what the future held. Because, after a week in Cabo, a year of cross country long distance, and a move to Denver, Bobby asked Lindsay for her hand, and she said yes.

The rest, as they say, is history.
