Their story is one out of the story books... a tale as old as time... a story of bartender, and bar regular. Richard is the local native in our Hallmark story. He was born in Napa, CA on January 11, 1979. His father Rick and his late mother Peggy raised him in a darling house located directly across the street from his high school in St. Helena, CA where he and his buddies could swing home on their school lunch break. Picture Gilmore Girls in wine country vibes. It truly doesn't get any cuter than this. After high school Rich went on to begin college in Santa Rosa, however the valley being full of other exciting opportunities he left to pursue new interests. Throughout his life in the Napa Valley Richard has held many jobs from being a luxury hotel house boy, to chasing down hot air balloons as they landed in the vineyards, and even almost becoming a hot air balloon pilot himself (Lindsay's favorite piece of Richard trivia)!A loving son, Richard eventually was faced with the difficult decision to move to Lake County, CA where he, his father, and his brother, Phillip worked to take care of his mother as she battled a cancer diagnosis. An experience that further shaped Rich into the kind and generous care giver he is to those he loves today. While Peggy might not be here to say so herself, Rich knows she is with him sharing her love and joy for this special day. We can't thank her enough for the man she and Rick raised him to be.Some time after his mother passed, Richard made his way back to Napa with his dog Owen where he began working for Trader Joe's and Billco's Billiards &amp; Darts... which we'll come back to in just a moment... Enter Lindsay.Let's call her the career driven transplant in our tale. Quite a few years after Richard, Lindsay was born in Richmond, VA on October 24, 1993 to Neil and Mary. They moved around a bit living in Virginia, then Minnesota, then Georgia where her brother Chris was born in 1998, then Tallahassee, FL, before finally landing in south Florida in Pembroke Pines, FL where her sister Olivia came home in 2005, and then Miramar, FL where her sister Sophie came home 2007.After graduating high school in 2012, Lindsay moved back to Tallahassee where she followed her parent's (and countless other family members) footsteps and attended Florida State University. While working on her degree she took up working in restaurants, the favorite being her last spot at Cypress Restaurant where she began to really focus on studying wine. Her wine studies lead her to the amazing opportunity to work as a wine making intern during the 2015 Napa harvest season with the Truchard family of Carneros. It was then she knew she had to end up back in this beautiful valley. After a few trial college majors, she ended up focusing her studies in hospitality and after 6 really fun years in college she graduated with her 4-year bachelors degree! Within a week of walking the graduation stage in 2018, she packed up her remaining belongings that she didn't sell, her 2 plump cats Mocha (since passed in 2021) and Latte, and all of her hopes and dreams and hopped on a plane to embark on her new life in Napa, California. A pivotal journey she gives special thanks to her father for supporting her. Neil's love and enthusiastic encouragement when it came to his daughter's dreams knew no bounds, and the same holds true for Lindsay's gratitude for her father.After a few years working at a winery, Lindsay eventually found herself becoming more interested in business operations as her career began to morph and take a new shape. And here is where our two love birds finally collide... You could say Richard and Lindsay were looking for love in all the wrong places before they found each other. Rich was working weekend nights at Billcos while Lindsay was there spending her weekday money. It was the usual simple interactions between the two of them. She'd order a beer, he'd pour the beer. She'd pay, he'd smile as she walked away. Slowly their interactions became friendlier, or shall we say, flirtier. You could say there was a real "will they/won't they" thing going on with the pair. One day with confidence fueled by beer, Lindsay marched up to Rich and with a slight slur in her voice asked "Do you want to go see a movie with me tomorrow?" He agreed enthusiastically as Lindsay shared or rather low-key bragged about her VIP Cinemark Movie Club member status which gave her free movie tickets (nevermind the $9.99/mo fee). "You're a movie club member?! I'm a movie club member too!" Rich exclaimed. The beginning of a long list of similarities and mutual interests they discovered with each other. The next day as Richard was anxiously getting ready for their date, he received a text. Lindsay: I'm sooo hungoverRichard: Oh no I'm sorry. Are you canceling on me?Lindsay: I just hope you have a really good sense of humor... Running late and trying to stave off potentially being sick, Lindsay threw on the first thing she could find, a black t-shirt dress which she would later realize was completely wrinkled... and was that a food stain on the front? Praying he wouldn't judge her for being such a mess, she quickly ran down the stairs and hopped in his car, a grey 2017 Nissan. Lindsay also owned a grey 2017 Nissan, another similarity they shared! She buckled her seat belt and noticed a cold beer in the passenger cup holder."Thought a little hair of the dog might help you out. I got one for me too!" Richard explained with a joking smile. Lindsay's worries quickly faded as she realized he seemed to like her just the way she was. We think that may have been the moment Lindsay fell in love. While Lindsay and Richard actually consider their second date a month later on January 26, 2022 to be their first date, this first outing together is now their funny memory. It was the clumsy moment they first tried to give seeing each other a shot. Neither of them thinking at the time that the other would be their partner for life, but definitely both of them hoping deep down. They both redeemed themselves with their second date, a dinner date at a local restaurant. Not hungover and fighting for her life this time, Lindsay was ready to go in wrinkle-free and stain-free clothes. Expecting an "I'm here" text or a honk of a horn, Lindsay was surprised when she heard a knock at her door. She opened it to find Rich standing there, handsome in a button down dress shirt and nice jeans, a departure from the usual hoodie she saw him in at the bar. In his hands he held a beautiful bouquet of tulips which he smiled and handed to her before they set out for their (second) first real date. Little did they know then that this would also be their last first date.They talked about everything under the sun, taking their remaining wine in their glasses to explore the restaurant gardens. As they went to return the glasses, they realized they were locked out since the restaurant closed. Both of them being souvenir hoarders, they laughed as they each took their glasses home with them to remember the perfect date by. The days, weeks and months that followed were full of fun and discovery for the couple. They took weekend drives to the coast, spent their days they weren't working wine tasting and enjoyed nights in watching movies. They even had the incredible opportunity to spend a few months exploring San Francisco together when Lindsay's work took her there during the week. Every single week on Rich's days off he would take the hour and a half ferry ride from Vallejo to San Francisco to go see her. He'd walk to her hotel and collect the secret key she'd leave at the front desk, then make sure the room was ready with snacks and drinks he'd pick up from the neighboring Trader Joe's, both excited to try whatever weird new thing they had to offer. They'd enjoy dinners out and in together, staying in what felt like a new hotel each time. It was here in San Francisco where they truly became best friends and continued to fall deeper in love. Within 7 months of their first (second) date, the two wine glasses they were forced to take with them that day were finally reunited when Rich and Lindsay decided to move in together. They were shocked when after a single meeting, Rich's doggy Owen and Lindsay's kitty Latte also became best of friends immediately. It really felt to them that the universe was making things easy for them. Telling them that everything would be okay as long as they were together. About a year and a half after that first (or second) date, Lindsay decided to celebrate her 30th birthday in Las Vegas. Rich knew this was the perfect time to pop the question he'd been wanting to ask for what felt like forever. The morning after her birthday on October 25, 2023, he took her to the top of the Paris (LV Hotel) Eiffel Tower. While taking in the incredible view her back was turned to him, so he took this perfect opportunity and got down on one knee, opened a little box and said "Lindsay..."She spun around to find him there, his eyes full of love and excitement as he said "Lindsay, I've been waiting for you my whole life. I love you so much. Will you do me the honor of marrying me?" And through the ugliest pre-cry face she could muster, her hands over her face and her eyes swelling with tears she nodded and said "yes!" as she wrapped her arms around him. They had hit the jackpot. Now here they are, counting down the days until they get to say "I do" in the city they fell in love in, all while surrounded by the people who mean the most to them. They're finding new fun in the adventure that is wedding planning. Navigating the difficult task of making a guest list, day dreaming together of all the fun places they could honeymoon to, and growing more excited each day that they will get to say cheers to each other on their wedding day while they drink from the glasses they commandeered from that first (second) date. They frequently tell each other they are so lucky, and we can all certainly agree they are. They have found a friendship, a partnership, and a love in each other that some believe to only exist in dreams. A love that is unconditional, a love that overcomes all obstacles, a love that chooses each other daily, a love that will last forever. 7.26.24

Just mention the Rodin-Redfern Wedding (aka, best day ever)! This hotel is one of the nicer ones in the area. For less expensive options within walking distance, just search for hotels in Fisherman's Wharf, or see a few recommended options below.You can always easily Uber from other areas in the city if you prefer!

San Francisco International Airport (SFO)

The best airport to fly into would be San Francisco International Airport (SFO) - home of the world's prettiest airport bathrooms in Lindsay's opinion (Terminal 1)!The airport is 10-15 minutes from the The Argonaut Hotel, so Uber/Lyft are great options to get there from the airport.

Oakland International Airport (OAK)

OAK airport is right across the Bay- about a 30 minute drive to the venue depending on traffic. This airport is much smaller so easier to navigate in and out. You can still Uber/Lyft from here rather than renting a car.Note: We do not recommend booking any hotel accomodations in Oakland
