In the days leading up to Thanksgiving 2016, an enchanting love story began unfolding. It was the night before Thanksgiving, affectionally referred to as "Skanksgiving" when the air was thick with celebration, drawing everyone to their hometown bars for a night of partying.
The night in question began at a friend's house where Lindsey and Collin were immediately drawn to one another. Flirt games were strong and as the night unfolded..... Collin thought he had hit a home run. However, to his dismay, Lindsey had a more tempting offer – free Taco Bell and a ride home from her Dad. Unable to resist the allure of Taco Bell, Collin's advances were abruptly halted, forcing him to head home alone.
Little did they know, this marked the beginning of their love story.
Collin pulled out all of the shots to woo Lindsey. On their first date, Collin bought tickets to the St. Louis Blues game – all-inclusive and against the glass. He visited her when she was living in Memphis, and cuddled her cat. He agreed to pay for their tour at Graceland, which Collin later confessed was entirely overpriced, but he wanted to appear chivalrous. On New Year's Eve, Lindsey had plans to visit Jackie Mink in Nashville, so Collin gathered his friends and road-tripped to Nashville to be near her, proving he possessed a charm that surprised many.
The next 6 months were a whirlwind of travel and adventures, spanning Memphis, St. Louis, Nashville, and even a Throm family trip to Aruba. Love blossomed.
Lindsey eventually returned to St. Louis for good, and after two years, she moved in with Collin. Their journey continued as they ventured into new experiences, and traversed various destinations, including Kansas City, the Kentucky Derby, Gulf Shores, Bull Shoals, Breckenridge, Austin, the Bourbon Trail, Niagara Falls, Toronto, New Hampshire, Boston, Maine, Chicago, Whitefish, Lake Tahoe, and St. Lucia.
They built their lives together.
At the end of the sixth year, feeling a nudge toward the next chapter, Collin proposed.
But, it proved worth the wait.
During their traditional stocking gift exchange, Collin proposed in a way that was tailored to Lindsey's love for books and Christmas. At the bottom of her stocking was a book ornament and inside, the words, “Lindsey, will you marry me?”.
And so, dear friends, this chapter concludes. The fairy tale endures, promising more adventures in the chapters yet to be written.
