Andrew and Lindsey's Story

Andrew and Lindsey met in August of 2022 through Intervarsity Christian Fellowship which is a Christian college community. Lindsey was Andrew's bible study leader during Andrew's senior year and Lindsey's Junior year at the University of Utah.

Andrew and Lindsey became friends during the fall of that year.

Andrew then asked Lindsey out on a date during Intervarsity's yearly spring break camp retreat at Catalina Island.

Their first date happened on March 15th where they went for coffee at Salt Lake Roasting Co., went and shared their life stories overlooking the beautiful SLC skyline, and then had dinner at Corner Bakery Cafe.

Andrew then asked Lindsey to be his girlfriend on April 6, 2023 after a month of dating.

Since then, Andrew and Lindsey have been on many adventures together. They have enjoyed spending time outdoors, playing board games (mostly Yahtzee), and going on trips to see family, all while seeing God show up in their relationship in many ways .

Starting in January of this year Lindsey left to go to New Zealand to staff at a YWAM (Youth With a Mission) base as a missionary for six months, leading to a season of long distance. This became a beautiful time that God used for so much growth in their lives both personally and as a couple. Not being able to see each other for that time was extremely difficult but they managed to pursue each other, getting to facetime or call almost every single day despite the 16 hour time difference.

Lindsey returned back from New Zealand on June 15, feeling like a dream to see each other in person again.

Andrew proposed to Lindsey on August 19th, 2024. Their day started out with Andrew sneaking into her home to surprise her with flowers everywhere and to wake her up. They had breakfast and pastries at Beaumont Bakery which Lindsey had been wanting Andrew to try for months. Next, they went to Thanksgiving Point to the Butterfly Atrium seeing hundreds of pretty butterflies and even getting to release their own butterflies that had just hatched from their cocoons. Andrew then asked Lindsey to marry him in a green meadow off of a path on the hike to Cecret Lake.
