Our Wedding

Tim and I met in August 2019 during young adult small group at Crossroads Uptown. It has been evident since the first time we met that God was orchestrating our story and we both feel extremely blessed and in awe of God's grace. During this season, our small group spent a lot of time hanging in groups and hosting fun events. Fast forward to January 2020, our small group took a trip to our leader's cabin for a small retreat. The first night there, I remember Tim and I talking during an evening hike about books we love and podcasts we listen to. The next day, we spent hours on the couch talking – it was effortless for us. Going home from that weekend trip, I kept thinking about Tim and how I wanted to spend more intentional one-on-one time with him. A few weeks went by, and then Tim asked me to get coffee at Coffee Emporium in Hyde Park. :) We talked for hours; sharing our faith stories, what we enjoy, our families, etc. It was wonderful! We then walked around Ault Park and continued to talk and get to know each other. That first date turned into a second date which turned into a third date which soon lead to Tim asking me to be his girlfriend. Our story began pre-COVID and maneuvering through the difficulty and pain it has caused has allowed us to really see each other in the midst of unnecessary stress and how we respond to it. We were able to get to know each other’s hearts because our going out dates turned into staying in and making dinner together. I learned so much about Timothy and his servant heart during this time. Tim pursued my heart the way Christ does, and it overjoys me that we are now planning a day to become one! That we get to build a life together and chase after Christ together! Months later, on October 3rd, Tim brought me back to Ault Park and walked me to the sweetest overhang with plants all around. He looked me in the eyes, and said "I love you so much, Lindsey. You're my best friend and I want to build a life together and chase after God together. I want to start a family together. Will you marry me?" YES. Here's to the future Mr. &amp; Mrs. Koch!!!! FUN FACTS:If you know Tim and I, you truly know we're a one-of-kind pair. We love to meal prep (yes that means eating eggs with spinach everyday) and wake up at 5:30am to workout before work. Also, both of our love languages are tortilla chips and peanut butter. We're one of a kind, I swear :)
