Our Wedding

On January 11, 2014, we met at The Brick Yard in San Francisco. Tony was there with friends watching the Seahawks dominate (Go Hawks!). With a strong suggestion from Rob and Steph Bevegni to meet Rob's "cute and hilarious" friend, Lindsey joined. Little did Tony know, but this meet cute had been in the works for months. The first meeting wasn't exactly an excerpt from The Notebook -- if anyone has watched the Seahawks with Tony, you know it takes a lot to pry his attention away from the game. However, it didn't take Tony long to make sure that he got Lindsey's number to arrange for a more romantic/real date. Tony is very glad Lindsey agreed to make the long commute from Santa Clara for our first date at Fat Angel! For the next 9 months, we split time between San Francisco and Santa Clara. Despite the distance (an hour commute, really), we made the most of our new relationship, including nights out in SF, movie nights and suburban hikes in SC and nightly calls during the Bar exam ("are you still breathing?!"). Lindsey finally moved up to SF after finishing law school and the Bar exam, plus an extra 2 weeks for an awesome trip to Turkey with her family.Once we were both finally living in the same place, we spent a lot more time together and things naturally clicked. We bonded over our Washington roots, interest in traveling, hiking and exploring and the absolute love we have for our family and friends. The chemistry was obvious to both of us, and our relationship naturally progressed into a love for one another and a best friendship. It was on a trip we took to Cabo early on that Tony knew he wanted to marry Lindsey (sans margaritas). Lindsey had known Tony was the "one" for some time, but wanted to test the waters with a ski trip to Schweitzer Mountain Resort. Despite a minor snafu on the first chairlift of the day (witnessed by Tom), the trip was a success. Fast forward a couple of years and between work, events, family visits, HGTV shows and Blue Apron dinners, we managed to plan a weekend get-away to Half Moon Bay. On July 23, 2016, we hiked the beautiful Coastal Trail with cypress trees to one side and the Pacific Ocean to the other (see picture above). We each thought to ourselves that this was the perfect spot to get engaged. About an hour into our hike, Tony got down on one knee and asked Lindsey to marry him. "Yes...of course!" was the best "yes" Tony ever heard!We are looking forward to creating many more memories with each other and with all of you, beginning with our marriage on September 2, 2017!

About the Venue

Santa Clara University is very special to both of us. We're excited to get married here and share this amazing place with all of you!! A few very important events went down at SCU, include the following:- 1777: Mission Santa Clara was established.- 1851: The Jesuits started Santa Clara College, the first (and best!) institution of higher education in California.- 1950: Santa Clara football won the Orange Bowl! The football program was discontinued after the 1952 season, so future students turned into huge SCU basketball and soccer fans. Go Broncos!- 1968-1969: Tom Cochran attended SCU his freshman year before leaving (being asked to leave?) to continue his college career at University of Washington.- 1977-1981: Greg Vieceli attended SCU and begged (we mean, convinced) Kathy to join him there in 1979.- 2001-2005: Tony attended SCU. He survived living in the California Phi (SAE) house with just enough battle wounds. - 2005-2009: Lindsey attended SCU. From Swig 600 to Delta Gamma and beyond, the borderline-unhealthy obsession with SCU was established (see all items below).- 2007: SCU men's basketball beat Gonzaga!! We're sure this happened more often, but this time some students started riots at SCU following the game. - 2011-2014: Lindsey attended SCU for law school. She just couldn't get away from The Hut (er, school).- 2014: Lindsey was sworn in to the California State Bar at the Mission Santa Clara! This was also the first time/place Tony met Lindsey's parents.- 2017: Wedding of Lindsey Cochran and Tony Vieceli!

Welcome to the Bay Area! We first want to say Thank You for coming to California to celebrate with us! It really means so much to us to have you here!For those of you traveling from outside the area, it is likely most convenient to fly into the San Jose, CA airport (SJC). SJC is located about 10 minutes away from Santa Clara and the main wedding festivities. Another option is of course to fly into San Francisco (SFO). You can easily rent a car and drive south to Santa Clara (about an hour) or take Caltrain (an hour+).
