As any modern fairytale romance starts, Matt was swiping one night on a dating app (“Hinge” to be exact), when he discovered Lindsey's profile. Intrigued, he sent her a notification. Upon receipt, Lindsey admits she was mesmerized by Matt's incredible beard and happened to miss his first prompt which read, "must love dogs I have two" (although admittedly, at the time she would not call herself an animal lover). Once they “matched”, Matt quickly redirected their conversation off the app where Lindsey agreed to a first date!

Matt was determined to move from virtual match to reality. Their first date was not only filled with delicious Thai food and terrific conversation, but also a nearby nosey couple that attentively tuned in….firsthand witnesses of a beautiful beginning. While Matt and Lindsey enjoyed a brief "pre-season", they decided a pause was in order.

Lindsey credits Matt for where they are today…his perseverance, thoughtfulness, and never-give-up attitude quickly brought them back together. After all, he was the first person to text her a happy birthday greeting on their shared celebratory date! As Matt was back in her life, Lindsey embraced the revelation that he was “the one", and that he simply made everything in her life better.

Reunited, they moved forward with purpose. From seeing each other once a week to arranging holidays with families, and now planning a future together. If you ask Matt, what makes their relationship work is Lindsey's intuitiveness, her occasional inability to read, and her innate ability to make anywhere feel like home . If you ask Lindsey, she says it's their communication skills, Matt's killer beard, and his ability to love out loud.

Matt's proposal came out of the blue one gorgeous May afternoon. Lindsey believed they were heading to Autumn Lake Winery for a casual afternoon to cap off a fun-filled weekend. However, Matt had other intentions. After aimlessly strolling around enjoying the scenery, Lindsey had unwittingly stalled his carefully prearranged operation, so Matt proclaimed, "I always wanted to see a vineyard!" This exclamation helped Lindsey back into motion and into position at the fated destination.

Photographer poised and ready, Matt dropped to one knee using a Taylor Swift inspired "friendship bracelet", and he asked her to marry him! In disbelief and shock, she blacked out, was rendered speechless (for the first time in her life) and almost forgot to say “YES!”

The next thing you know, he told her to turn around and smile for the now unhidden photographer’s camera and then assured her that she didn't need to call her mother because dinner plans with both their parents was set for that evening. Matt always had a knack for making our life magical, but he truly outdid himself there.
