Ryan and Lindsey met on July 23, 2022, at a mutual friend’s wedding. The reception followed the ceremony, and as everyone found seats, conversation began around the table. Ryan was among a few people he knew, but one girl, Lindsey, caught his attention. She was just as reserved as he was, and her presence intrigued him. Ryan was one of the few from their table to get up to get food, and this cute, blond girl followed shortly after. While waiting in line for food, Lindsey broke the ice by asking Ryan about his interests and education. He told her he was studying to be an architect at KSU. Something about Lindsey felt different to Ryan. Perhaps it was the curl of her hair, the shy but curious glances, or the genuine interest and passion in her voice. Whatever it was, he was drawn to her. Ryan decided to ask the groom about her name stealthily. Without fail, the groom turned around and made his observation of Lindsey as obvious as a lighthouse to boats at sea. Her name, Ryan discovered, was Lindsey. Meanwhile, Lindsey, curious about Ryan, had asked the bride about him. The bride, in a humorous twist, tried to sabotage (JK) their budding connection twice. First, by confusing Ryan with another tall, skinny guy at the wedding and giving Lindsey his name instead of Ryan's. Then, during the slow dance, the bride paired Ryan up with one of the bridesmaids. Meanwhile Lindsey was laughing about Ryan dancing with the bridesmaid in the corner. Dancing with the bridesmaid was slow and awkward, and all Ryan could think about was mustering the courage to ask Lindsey to dance. After the dance, he thanked the bridesmaid and walked over to Lindsey. He asked her to dance, and they began to slow dance together. As the night went on, Ryan sought the groom's advice on how to get Lindsey's number. He suggested a joke, cringy as it was. Ryan decided to go through with it, and despite the terrible joke, Lindsey laughed and said yes. That moment marked the beginning of their beautiful relationship.
