Who would have thought that college freshman orientation would lead to marriage? Back in 2009 when Lindsey was busy sneaking her way into her best friend's orientation group, and Jake was counting down the minutes for the day to be over, they were both unknowingly sitting just feet apart from their future spouse. Words were never exchanged, but Lindsey made note of the cute, red-headed guy who made a funny joke in the computer lab that day. Weeks and months went by, and they only ever saw each other in the hallways of their fine arts building and would occasionally share a smile (both too nervous to say anything to the other). Time passed, Lindsey transferred schools, and they fell off each other's radar. Flash-forward 5 years to a night out with friends, and who does Lindsey see at the restaurant? The cute, red-headed guy from freshman orientation. They lock eyes, Jake nervously makes his way over to her, and the rest is history.
On December 27th, 2021, Jake and Lindsey bundled up and headed to Longwood Gardens. The very place that Jake took Lindsey to celebrate her birthday for the first time together as a couple. As they entered the grounds it began snowing and it made the gardens even more magical! As the day went on, Lindsey could feel Jake's nervousness as he looked around every corner checking to make sure the setting was just right. At this point, Lindsey knew what was coming! They found a quiet place near a bridge overlooking a small waterfall where Jake sweetly asked her to marry him! And of course, she said yes. They concluded their perfect day at the same restaurant, and at the very same table they had their first date.
