Jeremiah and Lindsey met as freshmen at the University of South Florida in late 2016- admittedly, on a dating app! Both parties were looking for love and trying to "get back out there" after they detached from their high school sweethearts. Despite being on a dating app, both were on the same page, and they wanted to take things slow. Little did they know that something as innocuous as a "swipe," paired with the right mentality, would lead to the rest of their lives.

Their first date was to Busch Gardens a few days before 2016 came to a close. As two broke college kids, luckily, Jeremiah had some tickets on hand from when he worked as a character at Howl-O-Scream. There, they spent all day getting to know one another, joking, laughing, and sprinting from one coaster to the next. On this date, Jeremiah also revealed that he had a dream to join the armed forces, and Lindsey was unconditionally supportive. Jeremiah realized he wanted to be with Lindsey when just before the park closed, she accidentally fell asleep on his shoulder while waiting in line for the last coaster. On the second date, they decided to become a pair, and on the third, Lindsey met Jeremiah's adoptive family. As you can see, everything went a bit faster than originally anticipated! Nevertheless, both were happy to have found what they were looking for so quickly.

Over the next few months, they solidified themselves as a couple. The two began with a road trip up the East Coast to spend time with Lindsey's family. There, Jeremiah first met Harry and Eve, Lindsey's maternal grandparents, along with Dottie, Lindsey's paternal grandmother. It was a blast getting to eat fresh-churned butter pecan ice cream in south Georgia, clink open some "welcome beers" with Harry, explore Chattanooga, and traverse several cities and towns in Kentucky,

Soon after this first road trip, Jeremiah began seriously rethinking what he wanted for the next few years of his life. Finally, he decided to pursue his dream and join the armed forces, planning for Lindsey to tag along at a time that worked best for her. Originally. he wanted to join the Air Force; however, the Army offered him a fantastic job with great career prospects after finishing his military tenure. And so, Army it was! After a few more road trips across the East Coast and Florida to spend time with family, Jeremiah shipped off to basic training in September 2017.

The uncertainty and harsh conditions in basic training brought Lindsey and Jeremiah extremely close. Jeremiah would have to sneak a flashlight to write Lindsey letters late at night after the grueling tasks that comprised his time in boot camp.

Likewise, Lindsey would speed home from her classes at USF, constantly on the hunt for Jeremiah's letters. She sent him extensive care packages, foldables, and letters so long that she had to type them! Thanks to Jeremiah, Lindsey built up the confidence to follow in the footsteps of her Dad and her best friend, Maddie, and joined Greek Life. During Jeremiah's training from September 2017 to May 2018, Lindsey took courses at USF, and her newfound sorority sisters became some of her closest friends.

In April of 2018, however, Lindsey and Jeremiah received some shocking news- Jeremiah was going to be shipped off to Germany for three years, and Lindsey was eligible to join him! From there, Lindsey made arrangements to transfer from USF to Florida International University so she could continue her studies remotely from Europe, and off they went!

For three years in Germany, Jeremiah and Lindsey became increasingly close. They discovered all the best ways to navigate their relationship as young twentysomethings. The pair traversed every corner of Europe, and the German state of Bavaria became their stomping ground. While in Germany, they made lifelong friends. They also discovered their mutual love of cooking and hosting parties. Jeremiah was always focused on his next promotion. Meanwhile, Lindsey continued her studies, alternating between a full and part-time basis on account of her full-time position at the local high school. Moreover, they adopted two cats named Nala and Archie, who proved to be their best little buddies while so far from home.

At the end of their three years in Germany, they were fortunate enough for Jeremiah to be stationed in Pearl City, Hawaii, in June 2021. Lindsey and Jeremiah are looking forward to all of the adventures and career opportunities beautiful Hawaii will bring with Lindsey's college graduation only a few short days before the wedding.
