Things to Do

Our Story How does one begin to tell the story of two people who have fallen in love. Some might suggest the use of Chat GPT… Others think it is best to start at the beginning.&nbsp; Lindsey Tifft and Sean Larkin were two very different people in October 2017. Fandom for their respective football teams aside, they were both at two different points in their lives. Lindsey had recently started another year of teaching at Pennwood Middle School, where she had been getting paid to bestow knowledge on to adolescents but was more commonly known for sharpening her teeth breaking up the consistent hallway fight. It was at this time that she earned her moniker “Iron Knuckles”. Sean found a home in insurance. Being a traditional match wasn’t a prerequisite that Sean and Lindsey were ever going to be able to achieve. This was particularly evident during their first encounter at Philadelphia’s Blocktoberfest. A mutual friend(we’ll call him Renn Glice for anonymity) would be the catalyst for the introduction. Lindsey and Renn had met through church when Renn had moved to Philadelphia after college. Sean and Renn were the oldest of friends having known each other since Elementary School in the sleepy New York suburb of Goshen, NY.&nbsp;It was only a matter of time before Sean would cross paths with Lindsey as mutual friends of Renn’s.&nbsp;To say that the initial introductions were sobering would be a lie considering the amount of alcohol that Lindsey and Sean consumed while celebrating the cities appropriation of a long standing German tradition. However, this day would serve as a reference point for the rest of their lives. Despite the lack of phone numbers being exchanged, both would fondly remember this day as the one that led them to each other. Once again confirming the correlation between good decision making and heavy drinking. Our two main characters wouldn’t see eachother again until July of the next year. Lindsey, Renn Glice and another friend of theirs (we’ll call her Warolyn Cinton), made a pit stop at Renn’s hometown on their way up to Maine for a weekend getaway out of the city. It was here Lindsey would become cultured on the different aspects of suburban New York life. In the case of Goshen, Church’s and IceCream stands.&nbsp;Renn, knowing his old friend Sean had been marinating for some time at their shared hometown, decided to give him a ring and invited him to meet them at “What’s the Scoop” for a cool treat in the summer heat. Our two heroes had recognized each other from the previous Fall’s inebriation but were still hesitant to extend themselves any further. Lindsey, Sean, Warolyn and Renn would finish their mid afternoon frozen desserts and part ways. Thus making them 0 for 2 on attempts at keeping the door open for any future contact to be made. Over the course of the next 5 years Lindsey would continue to solidify her status as “Iron Knuckles” to the pre-teen students of the greater Philadelphia area. Sean would continue to be happy just having a job.&nbsp;Time passed, The Eagles would earn themselves a Superbowl ring(they’ve earned a 2nd since) and the New York Giants would not. Pandemics would come and go. Blocktoberfest and mid day Ice Cream seemed like a distant memory to two people who had forgotten about an opportunity that was missed. Until April 2023.&nbsp;Lindsey and Sean were invited to celebrate Renn’s wedding in Lancaster, PA. Both had memories of time spent together but it wasn’t until they saw each other in person again, until they realized how much they had missed the other’s company. Catching up during the reception evolved into a longer conversation at the after party. This is where Sean had a realization. He didn’t want this to be the third opportunity he would let go to waste without exchanging numbers. Sean informed Lindsey that he would be driving the two and a half hours down to Philadelphia from Goshen to take her out to dinner.&nbsp;Initially surprised that she had agreed, and checking more than once that she still wanted to, Sean nervously traveled down I-95 on June 17th, 2023. The two would laugh over drinks and pizza at Pizzeria Stella in Old City and realized by the end of the night that there wouldn’t be any more year long breaks in between seeing each other again.&nbsp;&nbsp; Sean would make the drive down I-95 every weekend to see Lindsey. Prematurely asking Lindsey if she would be his girlfriend(is the 2nd date too early?), Lindsey would eventually cave to his charm and became officially exclusive. Time slowed down and the two saw a permanence in the direction they were being led in. No longer wanting to manage the distance that their relationship required, Sean found work in the Philadelphia suburbs.&nbsp;They moved in together on June 2nd 2024 and became engaged on November 15th of the same year.&nbsp; There was nothing traditional about Lindsey and Sean’s arrangement. They’re two people that required several introductions before their fondness for each other would develop and even more time before that fondness would become an enduring love that they would share between them. Outwardly, some of this may seem like it was the “right place at the right time”, but that would undermine how hard they worked to be with each other. Not because of destiny or fate, but because they cared very deeply for the person they held hands with.&nbsp; Now our story becomes yours on November 1st, 2025 at our wedding.&nbsp;We want to extend a deep gratitude to our parents Lisa, Nancy, Doug and Thomas for instilling in us the humor, love and values that we try to share with everyone we come in contact with&nbsp;and our siblings for giving us the thick skin needed to laugh at ourselves. Thank you to everyone who helped make US possible.&nbsp;&nbsp;
