Our Wedding

Clayton &amp; Lindsey first met in 2013. Shortly after she graduated and moved home to San Antonio to start working at Labatt. At the time, Clayton was working at UPS in San Antonio. By chance, one of Lindsey's coworkers at Labatt asked her to sub in a social league soccer game for his wife's company team. Clayton was...not great at soccer, but they formed a friendship.

How We Met

Clayton and Lindsey were friends for a few years, randomly running into each other at social league sporting events. It started with soccer and then eventually Lindsey got asked to sub in Softball. Softball is not a sport Lindsey had EVER played. And of course it was something that Clayton excelled at. Lindsey agreed and would often sub for the softball team, effectively embarrassing herself in front of Clayton each time.

What Happened Next?

One day after a softball game, Clayton offered to stay late with Lindsey to show her how to swing the bat. (A true Rom-Com moment). After that day Lindsey would try and get as much time as possible with Clayton. They started doing bar trivia with some friends during the week, and Lindsey invited Clayton to hang out any chance she got (always in groups of friends). Lindsey invited Clayton to her annual Ugly Sweater Party at her condo and he actually showed up! After this, she invited him to a friend's NYE party out in La Vernia. When Clayton made the trip, Lindsey KNEW he liked her. Clayton asked Lindsey on their first date on January 4th 2018. He couldn't decide what to do, so they went to dinner at Barbaro, a comedy performance at Laugh Out Loud, AND Beer Bacon &amp; Bingo at Alamo Beer. It went well enough for Clayton to ask Lindsey to be his girlfriend by January 14th. They were at his apartment and Clayton got Boomer involved. He told Boomer to give him a high five if Lindsey should be his girlfriend. Lindsey swears Boomer hesitated, thinking about it, before giving Clayton a high five!

How Did It All Begin?

August 30, 2024 Clayton planned a surprise engagement for almost 5 months. He had roped Lindsey's sister Taylor and one of his firefighter buddies JP into the plan. Clayton and Lindsey went to dinner with Taylor and her husband Jay at Barbaro "to get pumped for the start of football season." And afterwards Taylor and Lindsey had "planned" to go to a nearby bar, La Ruina, to check out their Mocktail Menu (Taylor was pregnant). On the way to the bar, Taylor called Lindsey and asked if they could take a slight detour to take some pregnancy announcement photos for them. Lindsey, of course, agreed and they stopped at the Hays Street Bridge downtown SA. Hays Street Bridge overlooks Alamo Beer (the second location of the night from their first date). Turns out this was all pre-planned by Clayton. As they were walking up onto the bridge, there were some chickens climbing in the trees lining the bridge. This was strange but Lindsey didn't think anything of it. Clayton was starting to get nervous and the chickens apparently threw him off his plan. As they approached the middle of the bridge, Lindsey spotted a man busking with his guitar (JP). She didn't recognize him, and even mentioned what an odd spot it was to busk since there weren't many people around. After Lindsey took the fake pregnancy announcement photos, Taylor offered to take a photo for Lindsey and Clayton since the sun was setting and the scenery was beautiful. While posing for the photo, Clayton started acting suspicious and Lindsey could tell something was off. That is when Clayton got down on one knee and asked Lindsey to spend the rest of her life with him.

Airfare

Our travel agent can help you book airfare if you are in need of assistance. However, you are more than welcome to book that on your own! If you choose to book your airfare through Jessee, full payment for the airfare is due at the time of booking. The hotel block includes airport transfers so please be sure to share your airfare information with Jessee after you have it. She will be the one coordinating with the transfer company regardless of where you booked airfare.

Payments

At the time of booking your room, the only payment required is a $100 deposit to hold the room. After that there are 3 installment due dates. You can choose to follow the payment plan or pay all at once. Jessee can provide a detailed schedule of payment due dates.
