Matthew & Lindsey met while serving on the college worship and production teams at their church, Antioch Community Church. Lindsey became interested from afar and started asking around about That Quiet Guy With The Beard. Enlisting the help of some mutual friends, Lindsey got up the courage in Spring 2023 to pass a message letting Matthew know she was interested.

Matthew took time to pray and fast about the prospect, and after a couple months of casual conversations and intermittent flirting, Matthew showed up to Lindsey’s lifegroup game night. It is VERY IMPORTANT to note that Matthew won 3 games of Secret Hitler that night, and riding that boost of confidence he boldly asked Lindsey to walk her to her car and even more boldly told her that he wanted to pursue her. In elegant fashion, Lindsey threw her hands in the air and went “WOOHOO!”— and that’s how it all started <3

Almost one year later, while serving the Lord together in Colombia, Matthew boldly got down on one knee and asked Lindsey to marry him. Lindsey, in elegant fashion, said “uh huh, uh huh, uh huh!!!” and thankfully Matthew knew that meant yes ;)
