Tortilla Flat is a small but charming old western town deep in the Superstition Mountains with a bit of history. The drive from Gold Canyon Resort is about 45 minutes and provides amazing scenic views of the Superstition Mountains and nearby Canyon Lake. Before Tortilla Flat is access to the Dolly Steamboat that provides tours of Canyon Lake and the Salt River.

Dinosaur Mountain is a small peak that offers an hour or so of fun scrambling and interesting views. Dinosaur Mountain is southeast of the greater Phoenix area. Climbers will utilize trails at the Gold Canyon Golf Resort. The trailhead is at the north end of the resort, with ample parking nearby.
