It all started with "This One Time at Band Camp"......
It all began way back in 1992....... Lisa remembers a handsome, talented trumpet player who drove a green VW Bus, played hakki sack and lived to play his trumpet, also known as, his first true love. He favored the 50 yard line, solos and a stellar marching technique. Lisa, lost in teenage wanderlust recalls saying, " I will marry that man one day". He was truly perfection.
Chris recalled the curly haired underclassman that was too young for him...."but she had really nice hair".
April 8, 2011, Finally a fist date and The Hulmeville Inn seemed like an appropriate spot to find true love so Chris asked Lisa to meet for drinks. It was an interesting beginning to a serendipitous story....Credit goes to Thompson Square for their song, "Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not". Those lyrics along with the sound of "Me and Tennessee" finally after a few dates lead to "Our Last First Kiss", thank you Darius Rucker for "History in the Making".It was a romance that could only be described in lyrics. Lyrics like you can only find in the perfect country song: "Big Green Tractor" for Chris and "Then" by Brad Paisley for Lisa.Almost two decades later, after both having worked at Fox Pools and Ross Department store it took a comment on Facebook for the magic to begin.
After about a year the couple decided that this was for eternity and Bristol quickly became their new home together as a family. It took a lot of work but we created our own cozy little oasis. After numerous renovations, a new kitchen, a new porch, a trip to the hospital, lots of paint and tons of kisses and snuggles on the couch, they finally turned this little house into a home and the sweetest love story this tiny town has ever seen.
We were inseparable from the very beginning; concerts, parties, baseball games, hockey games, family events, holidays and more. Every chance to make new memories was better than the last. We looked forward to each new day together..
Chris and Lisa have always shared a passion for music. They first met in band camp at Truman High School where they went on to perform together in various bands, choirs, and musicals. Now they look forward to nights out with The Seven Band, they enjoy hosting wine parties, attending live music events and most of all, FOOD! Lisa cooks while Chris likes to pretend to help so he can eat, lol. Chris is a long time member of Station 14 Firehouse, a Trumpet Player for The Seven Band and an Instrumental and Music Teacher in Riverside, NJ. Lisa has a background in Respiratory Medicine and Therapeutics, Neurosurgery, Family Medicine and then finally found an opportunity to pursue her dream in Special Education. This power couple has coached little league baseball together, directed Riverside's Marching Band together, performed in Musicals, planned fundraising events, volunteered community services and so much more together...
In early February the couple took an adventure down to the city to explore Jewelers Row. Chris and Lisa's adventure lead them to Barsky Jewelers where they both fell in love with an engagement ring that perfectly reflects the last decade of their lives.
Now after a decade together and still completely smitten, and with the love and support of our amazing friends, and families we are FINALLY saying "WE DO!"
On April 3,2021 Chris took a knee surrounded by family and friends, he asked Lisa to forever be his always and marry him.
It only took a decade but the best things in life are worth waiting for
