It's funny how life works. Before we ever met, our paths crossed multiple times without us even knowing it. We both lived close to one another for years and frequented the same local spots around Kitchener, often just missing each other by a hair's breadth.
Our actual love story began in the spring of 2021, when Branden moved into the basement unit of the house I shared with a friend. At first, Branden tried to win me over with food, often offering delicious home-cooked meals, hoping to catch my attention.
Our first real conversation happened by chance. I was feeling a bit down and went outside to clear my head with a joint. Branden, who had noticed the smell of weed, came into the backyard to chat. We talked for what felt like hours, sharing stories and dreams - it was clear there was a connection. However, me being the shy introvert, it took a few more weeks before we began to see each other more frequently.
Our first official date was a casual night in, watching TV and sharing a plate of nachos. It was simple, but it felt right. As our friendship deepened, so did our feelings. We spent countless hours together, exploring local trails, cooking delicious meals, binge-watching our favorite TV shows, and playing video games.
In the spring of 2022, we moved in together officially. While sharing a house with a roommate had its challenges, it also brought us closer together. Our time together was often filled with laughter and fun - and soon we had our first dog to love, Cam.
In 2023, we decided to make a significant change and move to Wallaceburg. It was a big leap, but we were excited to start a new chapter together. We found a cozy house and that summer we welcomed Cam's half sister; River.
In May 2024, Branden surprised me with a romantic getaway to a secluded Airbnb. During a leisurely stroll through the woods, he pulled me aside and, with a nervous smile, asked me to marry him. It was a perfect, intimate moment that we'll cherish forever.
Now, as we prepare to tie the knot, we're filled with gratitude for the journey that brought us here. We're grateful for every moment, every laugh, and every tear and are both excited for our future together. We can't wait to celebrate our love with our closest friends and family.
