Lisa & Johnathan

Johnathan and I first met in March of 2017 while we were both at Wright State University. Our very first date was at an IHOP because we both strongly believe in Brinner (breakfast for dinner). On our third date together we went to the movies a classic date night where we saw the live action film The Beauty and the Beast. Little did we know this night would mean so much to our story. That night I almost fell asleep during the movie because it was the first time I had watched a movie in those very comfortable lounge seats. I was exhausted from student teaching, classes, and work … so much so that I did not pay as close attention to the movie as I should have as Johnathan did… he used a line from the movie when dropping me back off at my car to ask as any gentleman would for permission to kiss me. I then graduated from Wright State at the end of April and moved back home at this point we were not sure what the future would hold for us. However, as the story goes they all lived happily ever after… Johnathan would spend that year driving back and forth from Dayton to visit with me and support me and my always working multiple jobs lifestyle (I think he just loved the potato skins at my restaurant job). We officially began dating November 19, 2017. We have shared many adventures since then, and made tons of wonderful memories! We have enjoyed the beaches of Michigan and a cute little Air BnB with a hostess who warmed our hearts. We explored the Magical World of Disney, adventured to a Galaxy Far Far away, ventured to worlds big and small, drank around the world, took a flight in Pandora, discovered the Yeti of Mount Everest, and had dinner with a familiar Beast in his castle. We have shared many date nights at Mezzos after which we would either get Jeni’s Ice Cream and/or stroll the veterans park in Dublin. We moved in together which was a big adventure in and of itself, especially when we were stuck inside during a pandemic (which John enjoyed)! Once we got stir crazy in the apartment we rented a cabin in hocking hills and had our own little get away. Then the riots happened and we ran off to Key West… not even sure if anything was open down there we had a room and the ocean, but then we had a coconut while in Key West… long story here. We rented a floating tiki which took us around the beach areas, and we swam in the ocean for just a little bit then we found a coconut which I insisted on having because it was floating along all by itself (I lovingly named him Wilson). The plan was to bring Wilson back and give him a proper home in Ohio however there was no room in our luggage. So, the morning we had to leave the beautiful shores of key west, we sent Wilson back out to sea where he belonged… little did I know that when I turned around Johnathan would ask me a very special question with a Mickey Mouse themed ring in hand, my words were “Of course!”. A bottle of rose champagne and free ride to the airport (both provided by the owner of the Southernmost House, Mike, who was just as surprised and overjoyed as I was) and the rest is history. Tale as Old as Time song as old as rhyme beauty and the beast!
