Picture of Our Story

Kyle and Lisa met in 2015, they’re freshman year at Kent State, by being next door neighbors in the dorm. A few weeks into the year, we started becoming friends. We became close quickly but never had ‘more than friends’ feelings toward each other. Ironically, everyone always said that we were going to get married, including Kyle because of how much we hung out and how close of friends we became. Fast forward to 2019, senior year of college, a spring break trip sparked some new feelings for us. It took a while for me to admit I had more than ‘just friends’ feelings for Kyle. Kyle quickly became one of my family’s biggest fans so much so that they insisted I call him and tell him to fly to Vegas for a family wedding. At no surprise, Kyle was already planning a flight that weekend.

In spring of 2022, Kyle was working in Newark, NJ for a few months while I stayed in Texas with our dog Casper. Kyle decided that he was going to secretly make a trip to Ohio to pick out a ring for me and involve my family, including my grandpa, in this big secret. Little did I know, Kyle had it all planned out to propose to me in Fort Worth. Unexpectedly, we made a trip to Ohio in April to visit and help out with my grandpa while he was in the hospital. A few days in, we both needed a mental break from staying at the hospital. We went for a little walk at Brecksville Reservation. When we got to the top of a hill, I was ready to turn around and start heading back to the car. Kyle was messing around, hiding behind trees, trying to get me to play along. I was not about his games this day! He called for me multiple times as I started walking back to get me to come back. I was stubborn and was ready to go, not realizing there was a purpose behind Kyle’s games. Finally, he got me to turn around to see him down on one knee. I honestly couldn’t believe my eyes. He knew that the time was right, so I could share it with my grandpa before he past. Obviously, I said yes!😉
