Kevin and Lisa met while attending physical therapy school together in Troy, NY from 2014-2017. While attending school, they shared the same group of friends and began spending a lot of time together . Kevin quickly fell in love with Lisa's beauty, and repeatedly attempted to use his charm to win her over. Around that time, he conveniently purchased a fox red Labrador puppy (Finnegan) which bolstered his resume and Lisa began to fall in love with them. Upon graduation, they moved to southeastern Massachusetts to create a life together as a family of three.

Kevin had previously lived in a small beach town in Phippsburg, Maine while on a clinical rotation for school. Lisa would drive 6+ hours to visit him and Finn in the winter months of 2016. While vacationing at the same beach in August 2019, Kevin proposed to Lisa using his faithful sidekick. Kevin and Lisa were taking turns playing fetch with Finnegan, when Kevin secretly placed a special dog tag on Finn's collar. Lisa discovered Finn's collar and new name tag which read "Mom, will you marry Dad?"; Lisa turned around in shock to see Kevin down on one knee. Of course she said yes!!
