What is the status of the wedding with the global pandemic?

*UPDATE&nbsp;AS&nbsp;OF&nbsp;JULY 15, 2020*

With the unforeseen global pandemic, we have made the difficult choice to change the date of our wedding to&nbsp;Saturday, July 31, 2021.&nbsp;&nbsp;We thank you for understanding and we hope you will be able to attend our NEW big day. The location will remain the same, but you can find any other updates on this&nbsp;website (time, accommodations etc).&nbsp;&nbsp;We will send out formal updates soon, and&nbsp;look forward to celebrating the night away with you in 2021.

Back in 2002, both Aaron and Lisa's families moved to Brussels,&nbsp;Belgium where&nbsp;Aaron&nbsp;and Lisa's worlds collided.&nbsp; Aaron had long hair, only&nbsp; wore Boston Red Sox gear, and Lisa had Harry Potter glasses, a giant gap between her teeth and braces&nbsp;-- needless to say, it was not love at first sight.&nbsp; Aaron dated all of Lisa's friends and by the time he realized Lisa was a diamond dressed in an oversized sweatshirt, Lisa moved back to the US&nbsp;leaving Aaron to pine&nbsp;for her for years.&nbsp;&nbsp;Thankfully for Facebook, Lisa and Aaron remained connected after Belgium, talking to (and flirting with)&nbsp;each other every&nbsp;now&nbsp; and then.&nbsp; Then, when Aaron became an America's&nbsp; Got Talent Heart Throb, Lisa&nbsp;made sure to watch every single night and they started talking more frequently.&nbsp; Given that Aaron's act finished third place, he toured&nbsp; around the US, and frequented Las Vegas.&nbsp; So when Lisa and a few of her girlfriends planned a girls' trip to see the one and&nbsp; only Queen of Pop, Britney Spears, she reached out to Aaron convincing him&nbsp;to plan a boys' trip of his own to meet up with them.To this day, Aaron claims that all of his friends ended&nbsp;up bailing on the&nbsp; boys trip, but it's still unclear if that was the case.&nbsp; Aaron came to Vegas solo and the rest was history, they've been dating ever since.

The Beginning

On July 24, 2019, after five years of dating (and a solid two years of Lisa throwing hints left and right about engagement), Aaron finally popped&nbsp;the question.It was a 10/10 day down in Lavallette,&nbsp; NJ, meaning the Magic Hour (sunset)&nbsp;was going to be a good one.&nbsp; Lisa has a ritual of&nbsp; going&nbsp;to "her spot"&nbsp;at Lavallette Bay to sit and watch the sunset.&nbsp; On July 24, Aaron, Lisa's cousin and Matron of&nbsp;Honor, Kristina, and her husband Matt joined Lisa in her ritual.&nbsp; Additionally, Lisa's Aunt and Uncle decided to join them, not knowing that Aaron&nbsp; was about to propose.So, they all get down to the spot, and the sunset was pure perfection.&nbsp; They took photos of the sun setting, each other, etc. and right when Lisa was turning to head out, Aaron says, "Wait, let's take another one!", and pulls Lisa back towards the water.&nbsp; As Lisa started to get situated into her typical sorority-one-arm-propped-out pose, Aaron got down on one knee, to which Lisa exclaimed "WHAT&nbsp;ARE&nbsp;YOU&nbsp;DOING?!"&nbsp; Aaron then proceeded to say a bunch of mushy things that Lisa and Aaron will keep to themselves. Lisa accepted his proposal saying yes to Aaron For-ev-er.Thankfully, Aunt Robin,&nbsp;Uncle Wayne, and Matt&nbsp;were there to document it&nbsp;all as Kristina was so excited&nbsp;that she forgot to take&nbsp; any pictures or videos herself, but we still love her (and Aunt Robin's a better photographer anyway).

The Crystal Point Inn is conveniently located in the same lot as our wedding venue meaning you don't have to travel far after the festivities of the evening! This quaint Inn has 45 rooms, and we have access to them all the night of our wedding. So, if you are joining us only for the wedding on Saturday, this is the place to book! The block opens up for reservations on January 1, 2021. Just reference the Samson/Drew Wedding at Crystal Point Yacht Club when booking. The block will end the month prior to the wedding on June 27, 2021. Note from CP Inn: If you are attending a wedding at The Crystal Point Yacht Club and you would like to reserve a room for the evening of the wedding, please call the office at 732-899-3444&nbsp;to make your reservation. If you attempt to make the reservation online, it will tell you that there are no rooms available because the rooms are blocked off for the bride and groom’s guests.&nbsp;

For those travelling to NJ&nbsp;for our special day, please note that where our event is located will be&nbsp;about an hour away from Newark Airport, an&nbsp;hour away from Trenton-Mercer Airport, and an hour and a half away from Philadelphia International, JFK and&nbsp;LaGuardia Airports.&nbsp;&nbsp; Our wedding is happening during peak season at the Jersey Shore, and most people in the area travel down&nbsp;to start their beach rentals Friday night or&nbsp;Saturday morning.&nbsp;&nbsp;If you are&nbsp;travelling in the same day as the wedding,&nbsp; please keep that in mind.

The best way to get down the shore&nbsp; is to drive, but if you do not want to rent a car or drive, you could also take the train from Newark Airport or New York Penn Station.&nbsp; There are most likely trains out of Philadelphia and Trenton as well, but not certain of the station names.&nbsp;&nbsp;You would need to take the North Jersey Coast Line train down to Point Pleasant Beach, which often requires you to make 1 transfer in Long Beach to the "shore" train.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Point Pleasant Beach is the last stop before the final stop Bay Head.&nbsp; You could then uber to your hotel from there.&nbsp;

For our out of town guests who are looking to come into town a little earlier, we made sure to book this block from Thursday-Sunday! You do not have to book all the days within the block, but you are welcome to do so if you'd like. The Best Western offers complimentary continental breakfast, and also has a pool you can enjoy since it will be summertime! You're at the Jersey Shore!&nbsp; Go to the beach and get a glowing tan prior to celebrating the bride and groom.

Point Pleasant&nbsp;Beach is huge, and has parking nearby if you want to go for the day.&nbsp; Just make sure to bring cash (along with your chair,&nbsp; towel and sunscreen)&nbsp;as most the beaches do require you to pay for a day pass.&nbsp; It's usually $8-$11 but varies each summer season.

Prefer a little activity rather than just sitting on the beach?&nbsp; Head to Jenkinson's Boardwalk to enjoy boardwalk and arcade&nbsp;games, bars (for the adults), salt water taffy, the Aquarium&nbsp;and of course RIDES!

Point Pleasant has a cute downtown area with more than 100 shops, 15 antique galleries and 15 restaurants.&nbsp; This is also home of Last Wave Brewing which has a small tap room where you can hang out and enjoy some brews with friends.

There are areas and meters for parking, but parking can be tough on busier days.&nbsp; Uber/Lyft would not be a terrible idea.

Explore Point Pleasant Beach Downtown

If you are interested in seeing the place that the Jersey Shore cast ruined, head on down to the Seaside Heights Boardwalk!&nbsp; Highly recommend a game of Frog Bog and if you're feeling frisky, take a whirl on&nbsp;the tallest ride on the boardwalk - The&nbsp;Skyscraper.
