It all started at The Pizza Pub one evening, thanks to a little trickery from Chris’s sister, Angela. Lisa had worked with her for nearly 15 years, and what Lisa didn’t know was that she was about to meet the man who’d change her life. What Chris didn’t know was that his sister had “accidentally” forgotten to mention that a few of her friends would be joining them for dinner.

Chris felt tricked by his sister, but he made the best of the situation and began to enjoy himself after getting to know everyone. Lisa immediately took to Chris’s story telling and his sense of humor, and Chris thought Lisa was just as funny. They all parted ways that evening - no numbers or details were traded. Chris and Lisa had both recently sworn off dating.

Within a few days, Lisa befriended Chris on Facebook. A few evenings later, Chris would strike up a conversation through Messenger with Lisa. Chris asked Lisa out to dinner, and Lisa said yes.

Their first date was May 17th, 2025 at Sonora’s in Portsmouth, and what was supposed to be dinner turned into hours of talking and laughing. They ended up sitting in the parking lot until the early morning hours, not wanting the night to end. After that, they have been inseparable.

Chris and Lisa enjoy each others company whether they are kayaking, hiking, fishing, or going on random road trips. Chris has even attended a Lil Wayne concert with Lisa and her teenage son, Eli. Haha.

Fast forward a bit — Chris’s daughter, Nicole, invited them to Tybee Island for a little family vacation. What Lisa didn’t know was that Chris had bought a ring and secretly told Nicole that he was going to propose on the trip.

A few days into the vacation, Chris and Lisa went for a walk along Tybee’s south beach, enjoying the ocean breeze and the sound of the waves. They stopped by a rock jetty to take a few pictures. After snapping a couple of selfies and a photo of Lisa on a rock, Chris smiled and said, “This is the perfect place.”

When Lisa asked, “Perfect place for what?” she turned around to find Chris down on one knee with a ring in his hand. She burst into tears of surprise and joy, and of course, said yes! Then Chris started crying too — both of them overwhelmed with happiness in that perfect, ocean-side moment.

Now, here they are — still laughing, still inseparable, and so excited to start their forever together. ❤️
