The night of the wedding, school buses will leave the venue at 10pm and 1am returning guests to downtown Whitehorse. There is plenty of parking at the resort for those who would like to drive to McClintock Bay from Whitehorse. Please note it is about 45 minutes of single-lane highway driving. We encourage everyone with campers, RVs, and tents to stay out at McClintock Bay with us on the night of the wedding! More details are available under the 'Venue Details' tab.

Transportation

For those travelling from outside of the Yukon, we recommend flying with Air North! They have provided us with a discount code for 15% off! Use code HossWik26 at checkout. Please note that this discount code cannot be used with seat sales. Food and one checked bag are included in fares.

For those planning to tour around the Yukon, we recommend renting a car. Like hotels, they do book up quickly so we strongly recommend you book in advance. The Yukon also now has Turo (car sharing platform).

Accommodation

Our hotel block is at the Raven Inn, which is located in downtown Whitehorse and walking distance to most things. There are also other hotels and Airbnb's available. We recommend booking early as they do fill up quickly!

Rooms will be released on June 16, 2026 if they are not booked before then. -Visit the <a href="https://macbridemuseum.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">MacBride Museum</a>, <a href="https://goytm.ca/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Transportation Museum</a> or <a href="https://www.beringia.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Beringia Museum</a>-Walk along the Yukon River and check out the <a href="https://parks.canada.ca/lhn-nhs/yt/ssklondike" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">S.S. Klondike National Historic Site</a>. If you walk far enough, I also recommend you check out the Whitehorse dam (unfortunately we don't offer public tours of the dam but there's lots of interpretive signage along the river)-Walk around Miles Canyon-Shop on Main Street

Our favourite restaurants are:-Woodcutter's Blanket (walkable from most hotels, brew their own beer)-Big Bear Eatery &amp; Taphouse-Dirty Northern (walkable from most hotels, good patio)-Belly of the Bison (walkable from most hotels, fancier)-Sanchez Cantina (walkable from most hotels) Winterlong Brewery is our favourite brewery but you need a car or bike to get there.

Near Whitehorse

There are many day trips you can do from Whitehorse. We recommend: -Wildlife Preserve/Bean North/Hot Springs Start with a visit to the Wildlife Preserve (very kid-friendly, can walk around self-guided or do a tour), go to <a href="https://beannorth.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Bean North</a> (local coffee roaster) for lunch and/or coffee (they do not open until 10am), and finish with a soak at the <a href="https://eclipsenordichotsprings.ca/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Eclipse Hot Springs</a>. -Emerald Lake/Carcross Desert/Carcross Carcross is only a 45 minute drive from Whitehorse. Along the way, stop at beautiful Emerald Lake and the Carcross Desert (said to be the smallest desert in the world). Once in Carcross, there are some small shops, an excellent coffee shop (Caribou Crossing) and restaurant. You can also walk around the town and visit Bennett Lake beach.

Haines Junction/Kluane National Park

If you love big mountains, Kluane National Park is for you! Haines Junction is the gateway to Kluane and is just under a 2-hour drive from Whitehorse. The visitor information centre for Kluane is located in Haines Junction and is an excellent resource for planning your activities.

Recommended Activities

-Hiking in Kluane (options <a href="https://yukonhiking.ca/regions/KluaneNationalPark" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">here</a>, ask Steve or Lisa for recommendations based on skill level)-Visiting Kathleen Lake at the Kathleen Lake campground-Fly fishing at the Kathleen River The best place to stop for food in Haines Junction is the <a href="https://www.villagebakeryyukon.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Village Bakery</a> or the Top Spot gas station (the food is very good!). There is also a hotel (Raven's Rest Inn, not to be confused with the one in Whitehorse) and Airbnb's in Haines Junction. If you are looking to camp, we'd recommend the Kathleen Lake campground.

Dawson City

If you have the time (suggest at least three nights), we highly recommend visiting Dawson City! Dawson is about a 6.5 hour drive from Whitehorse and is famous for its Klondike Gold Rush history.

Recommended activities

-Walk or drive up to the top of the <a href="https://dawsoncity.ca/listing/midnight-dome/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Dome</a> for panoramic views of Dawson-Go on a guided walking history tour of Dawson City (Parks Canada offers these, you can find out more at the visitor information centre)-Visit the Dawson City Museum-See a show at Gerties Casino (a must-do)-Take the toe shot (yes a real human toe) at the Downtown Hotel's Sourdough Saloon (another must-do) <a href="https://bontonandco.ca/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Bonton &amp; Company</a> is by far the best restaurant in Dawson and in Lisa's opinion, the Yukon. We recommend making a reservation or else you likely will not get in. There are lots of hotels in Dawson, but book early! You can also camp on the other side of the river in West Dawson at the Yukon River campground. There is a free ferry that runs regularly. A night out in Dawson is not complete without visiting The Pit.

Things to Do

Welcome Party Details

If you’re coming from out of town, please join us on Thursday, July 16 for a welcome party! We’d love the chance to spend some extra time with friends and family we don’t get to see often, and it’s also a great opportunity for guests to meet each other before the wedding. The party will be at <a href="https://www.google.com/maps/place/Gather+Cafe+%26+Taphouse/@60.7254794,-135.0577114,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x51544564ec9e5bc7:0x1b994216a3be6a11!8m2!3d60.7254768!4d-135.0551365!16s%2Fg%2F11ft1dz1tl?entry=ttu&amp;g_ep=EgoyMDI2MDMxMS4wIKXMDSoASAFQAw%3D%3D" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Gather Café &amp; Taphouse</a>, located inside the Lumel glassblowing studio downtown. Appetizers will be provided, and each guest will get two complimentary drinks. After that it’ll be a cash bar, so please bring some cash! The party will go from 5pm to 10pm. Children are welcome too!

The venue is located about 45 minutes outside of downtown Whitehorse, at 62 Swan Haven Drive, Marsh Lake, Yukon. Camping/RVsWe’d love for guests to camp or bring your RV/camper and stay the night of the wedding (Saturday, July 18) with us. There’s lots of space available on the property. The areas where you can camp or park RVs/campers are marked on the map below. The RV spots have an electrical hook-up. If you’re planning to camp, please try to arrive by 1:30 PM so you have time to get set up before the ceremony. The cabins shown on the map are reserved for the wedding party and won’t be available for other guests. There are several outhouses around the property that guests are welcome to use, and the main lodge bathrooms will be open until 12:30 AM. BusesWe’ll have school buses available for people who need a ride to and from the wedding venue.
