Carlos and Lissa met in 2015 when Carlos started working at Petsmart. What started off as just a great co-workmanship quickly evolved in friendship with us bonding over our similar tastes in music, love of reading, and our pure delight of each other's humor.

After a year of working together and having a friendship that had us busting out our snorting laughs, life gave us one more thing in common which we just so happened to pride ourselves on, being parents. We both welcomed our second children in the world. With Isabel and Ben only being a month apart we bonded over our hardships and joys of parenthood. The years went on and our friendship continued to grow through karaoke nights with friends, shopping trips to grow our book collections and play dates with our children.

In a twist of fate, we found ourselves single in the year of 2021. As we spent more time together we decided to throw caution to the wind and start a relationship that fall. We quickly went from best friends and secret keepers to what you would consider high school sweethearts not wanting to spend one minute apart, forever in the honeymoon phase.

After a blissful 6 months, we talked about taking it a step further. In January of 2022 we decided to fully blend our family which aside from us, includes Italia, Ethan, Isabel, Benjamin, and Emilio and we moved in together. Blending our family together was very important to us so throughout the year we embarked on several adventures not only as a couple but as a family to help build our relationships as a whole. Although we felt having our children develop a strong bond with us as their new parents was important, we both knew it'd make our hearts full if our children welcomed each other with open arms which came sooner than we thought.

Unbeknownst to Lissa, in June of 2022 Carlos asked her father, Bryan, for his permission to ask for her hand in marriage. Carlos explained to him that although he knew it might seem too soon to others, Lissa was meant to be much more than just a girlfriend. He knew he found his other half in her and she was meant to be his wife. To Carlos' delight Bryan and her brother Zach both accepted his proposal and gave him their blessings.

In the early months of 2023 Carlos collaborated with Lissa's best friend Kelsey and his close friend Kayla to help him create a perfectly romantic proposal.

On March 23rd, 2023 Carlos surprised her with a magical proposal at one of their favorite coffee shops. He created Lissa's dream proposal which consisted of three things that she wanted. All she asked for was that her best friend was in attendance, someone was able to film it, and he somehow incorporated books and coffee. With all of those boxes checked he was able to sweep her off her feet with ease. He wrote a speech which included a reference to one of their favorite books and characters who got married themselves. At the very end he popped the question and she said yes when he asked her to marry him.

After several months of searching we found the place we want to say I do. We found our perfect Storybook Venue and can't wait to begin our next chapter.
