Through a friend (Addison Lovelace:), Liv hears about a summer camp called Kanakuk and ends up going to work at their elementary Kamp, K-Kountry, for the first time summer 2021! She absolutely falls in love with everything about Kamp and knows she will be coming back to serve for many more years!

Through the persuasion of a friend (Carter Hopkins), DJ ends up serving at K-Kountry the summer after his sophomore year and loves that he is able to combine so many of his loves all together - sports, friends, kids, and Jesus!! While DJ and Liv serve at Kamp during the same time period, they have zero interaction and don't know much about one another... rather sad if you ask us now, but we know the Lord was in this detail!

Two summers later and Liv and DJ end up getting to work on the same leadership team for K-Kountry. That summer DJ was Kamper Care and was in charge of helping out all the home sick and challenging kiddos. Liv was in charge of running the Kamp office for her second summer! That leadership weekend the two begin to interact and become easy friends, though at this point they each think nothing of it.

By chance, Liv and DJ share the same off day for Kamp that summer, alongside Emma Sibley and Cam Baller! The four of them get together on their days off every now and then and one time even go to Silver Dollar City for the day! Getting to share a day away from Kamp together in smaller group settings allows DJ and Liv to get even closer!

Liv and DJ both start to develop feelings for one another but keep it a secret from each other and the whole leadership team. This is with exception of Taylor Hinman, Liv's go-to feeling confidant, and Cam Baller who was a wing man in encouraging DJ to eventually confess his feelings!

July 12th DJ officially confesses his feelings for Liv which she JOYFULLY reciprocates and on July 16th the two go on their first date to Coffee on the Rocks. The two sit there for three hours and just talk, and talk, and talk! It is at this point that Liv feels confident letting the leadership team in on whats happening. The image here is just a glimpse into the excitement of everyone finding out!

The two continue to go on dates every off day of kamp and every Saturday morning. On July 30th the two officially become boyfriend and girlfriend. In true Kamp fashion, they get back from their date and immediately hop on a Kamp party bus... It didn't take long for everyone to pick up on their giddiness and guess what took place!

Kamp ends early August and the two start a new season of long distance... not for the faint of heart. DJ was in Lawrence, Kansas finishing up his last semester at KU and Liv was in Branson, Missouri attending the Kanakuk Institute. Liv visits DJ the first week of September and on the 7th the two can't contain it and confess they love one another! Who is suprised!

Liv spends her first holiday with the Beachy family!! The Thanksgiving season is just that, full of so much to be thankful for... especially including a new introduction to Filipino food!

DJ then makes his way down to Georgia and shares Christmas with the Conklin family! The two weeks together is full of matching pjs, fondue night, and hiking!

The two go back and forth visiting one another and in April DJ comes to watch Liv graduate from the Kanakuk Institute. Little to Liv's knowledge, but this is also when DJ asks Mr. Conklin for Liv's hand in marriage...in case you couldn't guess.. he gave his blessing!

Liv and DJ serve at K-Kountry for yet another summer and once again share the same off day (though this time around it wasn't by chance, but rather because they asked;). Their off days consist of all kinds of fun dates around Branson and Springfield. It is also important to note that this image was just a week before their engagement, and Liv accidentally broke her pinky on her ring finger hand while trying to block a football pass from DJ... embarrassing.

THE BIG DAY! (well the first one) DJ asked and Liv said yes!! Truthfully so many details of this day could be shared but that would take up the whole page. Easiest explanation is that is was truly the Best. Day. Ever!

Current: DJ is currently studying at the Kanakuk Institute while Liv works full time for Kanakuk as a resident recruiter. The two are so grateful to now only be 5 minutes down the road from one another and are eagerly anticipating their upcoming big day! It has been a season full of changes, both good and hard, but one they are thankful to be taking on together! It is also a sweet season full of prayerfully preparing for the season to come!!
