We'd been friends for a while before we'd decided to go out on our first date. We realized we'd been talking late into the night for a few weeks and thought to try out a date.

George planned a first date to remember. It all started with a romantic dinner at Vinoteca in Shaw, followed by karaoke at Muzette in Adams Morgan (and a duet of "Paradise by the Dashboard Light"). On our way to our last stop at Bedrock Billiards, George's favorite dive bar, a man actually stopped us on the street and said, "you two will be very happy together."

And he was right.
