Jordan and Lizzie first met each other in a local Ann Arbor a cappella singing group, For Good Measure. Jordan joined after he moved back from college and Lizzie joined a few years later in 2019. They had no clue what was to come. The COVID pandemic shortly followed, prompting a hiatus in group gatherings, so they had to wait until 2021 to be together again.

In 2021, the world seemed to be returning to normal, and For Good Measure began meeting again, giving Lizzie and Jordan a renewed opportunity to get to know each other. Over the fall and winter of 2021, they spent hours at various parties and gatherings getting to know each other, from beach retreats, to Halloween parties, and caroling. At most of these events they seemed to gravitate to each other and could often be found talking into the wee hours of the morning.

In February of 2022, Lizzie and Jordan had their first "date", which centered around handcrafting a homemade pinata for their good friend Sarah's birthday. This silly activity provided something to focus on as they were both a bit nervous, but it again surprised them just how easy it was talking to each other and spending time together.

Over the spring and summer months, Jordan and Lizzie began spending more time together and realized how special their connection was. They spent time during their first summer visiting each of their families' special places, Grand Haven at Lizzie's parents' boat (OK Fine II) and Pentwater at Jordan's family's cottage. Needless to say, a deep love for Lake Michigan is something Lizzie and Jordan found they had in common.

They always say you never really know someone until you travel with them. Lizzie and Jordan took their first big trip together to Prince Edward Island for the wedding of Jordan's friends Katie and Connor (Katie is standing up in Jordan and Lizzie's wedding). The trip was a blast, and Lizzie and Jordan learned they loved adventuring together and trying new things. Notably, Jordan tried oysters for the first time and didn't hate them!

From 2022 to 2023, Lizzie and Jordan spent an ever increasing amount of time together and their relationship become more serious. In early June 2023, they decided they wanted to take the next step and live together. After a few car loads of stuff, one trip to IKEA, and one long night building a new dresser, Jordan was moved in at Lizzie's townhouse!

Jordan and Lizzie traveled to Hocking Hills for a hiking trip through the hills and forests in full fall colors. Despite the poor timing of Lizzie recently spraining her ankle and Jordan acting as a human crutch, the unplugged weekend in nature was amazing. Here they spent time talking about their life goals, shared values, and future together, realizing that they wanted to make their commitment more serious.

Jordan and Lizzie get engaged! Lizzie surprised Jordan with private ice skating at one of their favorite local parks, and Jordan surprised Lizzie with a tour of important places, people, and moments in their relationship, with letters written for each stop. They spent the first night with a getaway overnight and then celebrated with their families on New Year's Eve, ringing in 2024 as fiancees!
