Our story begins with two kids on opposite ends of the Midwest, deciding to venture out to Northeast Iowa to pursue their academic and athletic dreams.

Liz and Eddy met during their junior year of college - Liz was studying at Luther College in Decorah, while Eddy attended Upper Iowa University in Fayette. After many visits back and forth, they began dating in January of their senior year.

In May 2022, shortly after graduation, they commenced on the challenge of a long-distance relationship. Liz began working in Indianola while Eddy wrapped up his college football career.

In spring of 2023, Eddy had the chance to move back home to Illinois to teach math at his alma mater, increasing the distance between the two.

In August of 2023, Liz and Eddy moved in together in a condo in Palatine, Illinois. Eddy began his first year as a full-time math teacher, while also coaching football, wrestling, and track & field at Conant High School. Liz began working as a behavior aide at a therapeutic day school and soon after joined Sky High Volleyball Club coach.

On April 12, 2025, Eddy proposed in the place that felt most like them — their cozy home where they’d spent countless evenings unwinding together, sharing quiet moments, and raising their two kittens, Sully and Tux. Surrounded by the life they’d built, he asked Liz to spend forever with him. Of course, she said yes!
