Devin and Elizabeth went to high school together, but had never spoken to each other since he was older than she was. Devin was involved in a serious car accident in 2010, and Elizabeth reached out to wish him well through Facebook. Two years later, she'd reach out again about an upcoming Enter Shikari show at the Worcester Palladium - a band and venue the two still enjoy to this day. After weeks of talking through Facebook, they were finally going to meet in person, and it was then that they realized they shared much more in common than just their taste in music. They both love Seinfeld , The X-Files, stand-up comedy and cats. On April 13, 2013, they said "I love you" to each other for the first time after a Parkway Drive show at the same venue where they had met. They would continue to go to shows together throughout their relationship, sharing a love of all things metal. On December 9, 2022, they were at home in their apartment in Natick with their cats Alice and Cooper. They had plans to go out the following evening, but Elizabeth suggested they go out that night instead (she was going to be getting laser hair removal on her face the following morning, so she didn't want to go out looking red and scary). Devin looked at her and said, "Well, Elizabeth, in that case...." and got down on one knee. Elizabeth proceeded to hyperventilate and cry, knowing what was coming. After ten years of *patiently* waiting, he asked her to marry him. Finally! They hugged, kissed, and she said yes. "Where's the ring?!" she asked. "Well, we are going to go pick one out! You ready?" he said. Off they went to the Natick Mall. They went to Tiffany's first, which was obviously outrageously expensive, so they left as quickly as they had come in. Off to Kay Jewelers! They found the perfect ring: a solitaire diamond in the shape of an oval. It was perfect. They were giddy the entire time, and couldn't be more in love with each other.
