Jake and Liz first met in passing in August of 2017. It wasn't until January of 2018 that a mutual friend gave Liz and Jake a formal introduction.

They had their first date on the floor of Liz's new unfurnished apartment at the time. They shared a pasta dinner on paper plates with plastic silverware. It didn't matter that they didn't have much materially, the instant connection and witty banter was enough for them.

From that day forward Liz and Jake were inseparable, and just three short months after formally meeting they moved in together. Just one month after moving in together Liz got Jake to agree to their first dog, Chessi. Chessi enjoyed being an only paw-child for about a month before Jake decided Chessi needed a brother, Kai. It wasnt long before Jake and Liz realized that having two big dogs in a small apartment did not mesh well together. In 2019 Jake and Liz moved into their first home together. With the extra space that the new home provided they thought, why not add one more dog to the mix? Then came Gunner. Shortly after adding Gunner to the pack, Kai unexpectedly passed away. It was the first real loss that Liz and Jake had to go through together. Although it was extremely painful for the two of them, they leaned on each other and got through it stronger than ever....then came Mia.

Through all of this Jake enrolled in school to become a captain and Liz enrolled in school to become a cosmetologist. The couple had talked about getting engaged when Liz finished school in March of 2020. Unknown to Liz, Jake was planning to pop the question on Jake's family sailing trip to the BVI in April of 2020....thanks covid. Lucky for Liz the sailing trip was rescheduled to November 2020 in Puerto Rico (Liz's favorite place). The couple spent the trip relaxing away from the fur kids, snorkeling, zip lining, sharing lots of laughs together, and (the best part, of course) getting engaged!

They have pushed each other out of their comfort zones from the minute they met. Liz was waitressing when she met Jake, and Jake was the doc master at a local marina.

In 3.5 short years Jake and Liz have solidified their careers, started businesses, and grown their fur family. They are so excited for this next chapter and to continue growing together !
