It begins with two pairs of 3-D glasses.

Our first date was a movie. Bear with us, it gets better. We got there, gave each

other that awkward “first-date-getting-to-know-you-and-hoping-you-aren’t-a-serial-killer”

hug, and then headed inside the theater.

The movie was in 3-D. Well, it was supposed to be. We sat there, for three

hours, watching a 3-D movie without glasses because neither of us wanted to be the

one to get up and throw everything off by going to get them.

It was cute in a weird sort of way. We were so committed to this date going well

that we refused to do something that would have made it better for fear it would have

made it worse.

We like to think we have carried that same care and consideration into our

relationship over the years. We love each other, we care, even when it hurts. We knew

we had found the one in each other, and we know now we made the right choice.

To commit to one another, and to not go and get those glasses.
