23 Days To Go!

Our Story

From work phones to wedding bells!

It all started at work. Caleb was new at Amazon, working as a driver, and I was a shift assistant. Our first conversation happened when he was struggling with the work phone, and I stepped in to help. Little did we know, that small moment would lead to the start of something incredible.

Before long, I confided in his bosses (who were also my friends) that I liked him. They made it their mission to ensure we crossed paths as often as possible and confirmed he was single. For about a week, we both knew we liked each other but neither of us made the first move—until I told his boss to nudge him into asking for my phone number. He did, but true to Caleb’s calm and deliberate nature, he didn’t text me until almost 8 PM that evening, when I was already heading home from work.

Two days later, Caleb drove an hour and a half (thanks to an I-4 traffic jam) to pick me up for our first date at The Boathouse at Disney Springs. That night, we shared laughs, great food, and even went on a hot air balloon ride—marking the last time Caleb didn’t finish what I couldn’t eat!

A week later, I drove an hour to meet Caleb for a Chipotle date, and the very next day, we took a helicopter ride together. From there, everything happened quickly: we went to Halloween Horror Nights, then a week later to Hollywood Studios with my family. Caleb had planned to ask me to be his girlfriend that day, but everyone (including him) was so tired that we decided to head home early. That night, as we walked my dog, Napoleon, Caleb officially asked me to be his girlfriend.

Since then, we’ve created countless memories together—from attending a Celtics game in Miami, traveling to San Francisco, moving in together, and finally getting engaged at Fort De Soto Park on June 30, 2024.

Alright, here’s how it really went down. I first noticed Liz at work—she was this super cute, incredibly helpful girl who always seemed to be in the right place whenever I was returning undelivered packages. I thought she might like me, and I definitely liked her, but I didn’t want to risk making things awkward with a coworker. Still, I told a couple of my roommates about her because she was always on my mind.

My suspicions were confirmed one day when my bosses made a big deal about introducing her to me, even though we had already talked a few times. They were clearly trying to set something up, so I decided I’d ask for her phone number that day. Unfortunately, when I got back to the station, she was sitting at a table with her friends and acting a bit shy, so I missed my chance.

The next day, I didn’t let the opportunity slip by. When I finally asked for her number, I could tell she was nervous—so nervous, in fact, that my boss sent me her “real” phone number later, just in case she gave me the wrong one. I remember being confused, thinking, “Why would she give me a fake number?” Turns out she thought she had messed it up in her nerves.

That night, I texted her when I got home, and after a few days of talking, we went on our first date to Disney Springs. We had a great meal and ended the night with a kiss on the hot air balloon ride. Those who know me know I’m not a fan of heights, so it’s safe to say I already liked her a lot.

The next weekend, we spent even more time together, including a helicopter ride—clearly, I was on a roll with conquering my fear of heights for this girl. A week later, I was in Georgia for my cousin’s wedding when my dad saw a notification with Liz’s name on it. I usually like to keep things private until I know it’s serious, but if you know my dad, if there is a girl involved he is going to find out!. From there, my family quickly figured out something special was going on.

A few more dates later, on November 1, 2021, I officially asked Liz to be my girlfriend. Since then, we’ve made so many incredible memories together—from trips and adventures to moving in together and finally getting engaged on June 30, 2024. Now, I can’t wait to call her my wife and spend the rest of my life with my princesa.

Our journey has been filled with love, laughter, and adventures, and we can’t wait to start this next chapter as husband and wife. Here’s to forever!
