How (and when) can I RSVP?
Using the RSVP link on this website, right now! (or, by contacting the bride and groom directly). Wedding invitations were mailed out the first week of August with additional details and RSVP information.
Should I RSVP to the welcome drinks or brunch events?
Please RSVP if you plan to attend brunch as the restaurant has requested a rough headcount! Welcome drinks do not require an RSVP, just come through if you get to town early. There's no specific dress code for either event.
What accommodations are available?
Information about a room block can be found in the 'travel' section of our website.
How do I get to Eastern Long Island from New York City?
There are three primary transportation options to get from New York City (and its airports) to Eastern Long Island — where Shelter Island is located. The most convenient option for many will be to rent a car and drive. A lower-cost (and highly popular) option is the Hampton Jitney, a coach bus that goes to Greenport. Lastly, it's possible to take the Long Island Rail Road from the city to Greenport, although only a few trains make the journey each day.
How should we get to and from the venue on Saturday?
Shuttles will depart from the Harbor Front Inn in Greenport on Saturday at 3:15pm. The shuttles have enough space to accommodate all guests who are not staying on Shelter Island — we highly recommend this option. Two return shuttles will depart after the reception at 9pm and 10:15pm, respectively.
Additionally, there is space to park at the Ram's Head Inn for those who wish to drive.
Do I need to take a ferry to get to Shelter Island?
Yes. The only way to access Shelter Island is by ferry. The North Ferry (recommended) leaves from Greenport, while the South Ferry leaves from North Haven. Both ferries run continuously throughout the day, accommodate both cars (including Ubers) and foot-passengers, and take 10-15 minutes. Both ferries are also cash-only. More information can be found at northferry.com and southferry.com.
I live in New England. Should I fly?
We recommend that those living in New England drive and take the Cross Sound Ferry from New London, CT to Orient Point, NY. More information on the Cross Sound Ferry can be found at longislandferry.com.
What is the dress code?
Black Tie Optional
Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?
We plan to hold the ceremony outdoors, followed by an indoor cocktail hour, seated dinner, and reception. Expect temperatures during the ceremony to range from the mid-50s to the low-60s — so consider bringing a coat, shawl, or scarf. In the event of cold weather or rain, we will move the ceremony indoors.
