I think out story can be summed up by a few words: God's plans are so much better than our plans.

Liz and I met through a church event in March of 2023. She walked into community group and I was instantly drawn to her, because who wouldn't be? She's breathtaking, plus so smart and kind and so many other things. We started talking to each other and getting to know each other in the context of community group until one day I worked up the nerve to ask her on a date. I called her after community group at the park (thanks to some prompting by some other folks in the group) and to my luck she said yes.

Things were not smooth sailing from there though. Our first date would be reviewed as "fine" by most movie critics. And even though I asked her on a second date, it took me a couple of weeks to follow through on that second date. By the time I finally followed up, Liz graciously told me "what if we decided to just be friends?" In her words, I was being confusing because I was confused. It took Liz putting me back in the friend zone to take the pressure off and help me realize how much I wanted to be around her. I saw her a few days later and spent the entire night talking to her. The night after that, I invited myself over to her house and we stayed up on the couch until 4am talking and sharing our life stories, which really sparked the rest of our relationship.

From there we started talking every day, and have been on a journey of growing together ever since then. The next year and a half was spent growing deeper and deeper in relationship with one another, and the Lord using each of us as a massive catalyst for growth for one another. To say Liz was the best thing that ever happened to me is an understatement.

We eventually realized that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives with one another, so we got a ring, threw a few things together for a wedding and will be tying the knot on May 10th. We can't wait to celebrate with all of the people we love!
