What is the closest airport?
You can fly directly into Charleston International Airport (CHS), just a short Uber or Lyft from downtown!
Here are a few other airports:
Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV): 2 hour drive from Charleston
Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR): 2 hour 20 min drive from Charleston
Where should I stay in Charleston?
Our venue, Cannon Green, is located in the Cannonborough-Elliotborough neighborhood. We have hotel blocks at two nearby hotels: Francis Marion Hotel and the Moxy Charleston Downtown. There are also plenty of Airbnb/VRBOs in the neighborhood. Check out the travel page on our website for more details on hotel blocks!
Can I bring a plus one?
Your invitation will indicate if you have a guest or plus one. Regrettably, our venue space cannot accommodate more than our allotted guest count. Thank you for understanding. Please reach out to the bride or groom with any questions.
Are children invited?
With the exception of a few special guests of honor, we ask that you make arrangements for your kiddos to stay home. We love them dearly, but want you footloose and fancy free to dance the night away with us!
Am I invited to the welcome party? Is it open bar?
Yes, all guests are invited to join us at our welcome party at the Vintage Lounge Friday evening from 8-10! You'll be able to RSVP to the welcome party along with the wedding once you receive your invitation :) There will be a full service open bar.
What is the dress code?
The wedding day is Black Tie Optional. Tuxes or dark suits and formal evening gowns or dressy cocktail dresses are perfect. For the welcome party, the dress code is dressy casual. Ladies, you will not be walking on grass at any point :) We can't wait to see all our favorite people looking amazing and ready to party!
What is the weather like in early October?
The mornings/evenings will typically be in the lower 60s, with a high in the afternoons in the upper 70s/low 80s.
What if I have a dietary restriction or allergy?
The plated dinner options will be on your invitation, including a vegetarian option. When you RSVP online, you'll be able to let us know if you have any special dietary restrictions or allergies. Vegetarian and vegan options are available. Please let us know if you have other allergies or food concerns.
Is there parking on site for the welcome party?
The welcome party Friday evening is located at the Vintage Lounge right on King Street. While there is street parking, this area gets very busy especially on weekends. You may want to walk or take a Lyft/Uber. There are also paid parking lots nearby. A few include:
459 King St Parking: Near the corner of King St and Radcliffe St
Visitors Center Parking Garage (24/7): 63 Mary St
Marion Square Garage: located in the Francis Marion Hotel, 399 King St.
Is there parking at the venue the day of the wedding?
There is no designated parking lot at the venue. We suggest taking a Lyft/Uber or walking to the wedding so you can enjoy the open bar with us! Please reach out to the bride or groom with any questions or concerns.
What address should I provide my Uber/Lyft for the wedding venue?
You will enter the venue at 103 Spring St. At the end of the night, guests will exit from the back of the building at 82 Cannon St.
What time should I arrive for the wedding ceremony?
The doors at Cannon Green will open at 4:30pm for guests to begin arriving. The ceremony beings at 5 pm. We suggest you build in a little cushion to make sure your Uber/Lyft gets you to the venue on time.
What suggestions do you have for things to do/eat in Charleston?
Check out the "restaurant recs" and "things to do" tabs on our wedding website for lots of great recommendations on food and fun while you're in town!
Will I need a rental car?
It all depends on how long you're staying, where you book your hotel/airbnb, and what you plan to do while you are in town! Ubers/Lyfts are generally very easy to get in Charleston and should meet your needs for transportation to/from the airport, welcome party and wedding venue. If you plan to explore the beaches or other attractions outside of the downtown area, a rental car may help.
Will there be any Sunday brunch or other event?
While we would love our wedding weekend to last forever, we do have to catch a flight to South Africa Sunday afternoon for our honeymoon! So we'll leave you all on a high Saturday night :) But definitely check out the restaurant recs and things to do pages on our wedding website for some great ideas to fill your Sunday before you head back home!
