It seems only fitting that Austin and I met at the shoe during Buckeye County Superfest in 2019.
After meeting on a Saturday and heading back to New Albany, Austin and I decided to meet on Monday morning before I had my first summer class at OSU. After my classes were over for the day, I decided to drive over to the woody and say hello to Austin before heading back home. This became our new tradition of seeing each other every day before and after classes. Shortly after Austin made the trip to New Albany, we went on our first date, and we were inseparable after that. After long work hours in the summer, Austin would make the 30-minute drive to my parents house to spend time with me, or I would head over to his apartment just to spend a couple minutes with each other.
After doing long distance for a bit with Austin in Ohio and me in New Orleans, we decided to take a break, but during my junior year of college, our paths crossed again. My family was always bringing up Austin, and they always thought we would end up together.
After graduating from Tulane in 2022 and moving back to Columbus, Austin and I shortly moved in together (after he lived in my childhood home with my family for a little over a month) in the same apartments my parents lived in when they moved to Columbus.
After a year of living together, we made a decision to get Blitz, our mini Bernadoodle puppy, to help keep me company during the football season.
On July 13, my family was going out to dinner with my Binga and Papa at the New Albany Country Club, and I didn’t think anything of it. Austin had other plans, and he surprised me with a proposal and an engagement party with our closest friends upstairs. We now cannot wait to start our next chapter on June 28, 2025.
