We have a hotel block at the Whaler’s Inn for a fixed rate of $479/night. We understand the Inn is expensive, so we included other nearby hotels in the travel section of our website. The Inn does book up for the summer, so please plan accordingly. Guests reserving a room at the Inn should book no later than 45 days before the wedding. To book under the hotel block, please call the Whaler's Inn and specify you are booking a room under "Nick and Lizzie."
What is the parking situation?
There is limited parking available at the ceremony venue. We recommend carpooling if possible! There are two free public parking lots within walking distance to the lighthouse. The reception dinner is about a 15-minute drive from the ceremony. Parking at the restaurant and the inn is first-come-first serve. There is free street parking downtown.
Will the wedding be outdoors?
Yes! Our ceremony will be outside by the water. Summers in CT can get hot. Please dress accordingly and stay hydrated!
Is there a dress code for the wedding?
While there is no strict dress code, we’d recommend wearing cocktail attire. The ceremony will be outside by the water, so it may be breezy.
Am I allowed to bring a plus one?
Since we want to keep our wedding as intimate as possible, we're only inviting our closest loved ones. Plus ones will be indicated on the wedding invitation.
What type of food will be served?
After the ceremony, we will have a short cocktail hour with passed hors d'oeuvres. Dinner will be a three-course meal with choices for each course. While we will try to accommodate dietary restrictions, the restaurant menu changes weekly and often features locally caught seafood.
Can I go into the Lighthouse?
The lighthouse will be open to visitors before the ceremony starts. If you are interested in viewing the lighthouse, we recommend arriving at the venue a little earlier.
