Lizzy and Brent met on the online dating app Hinge in 2021. We had our first date on June 22, 2021 (which is why we picked June 22 as our wedding date!). Our first date was at The Nook restaurant in St. Paul. After we finished our meal, neither of us wanted the date to end, so we walked around St. Paul for hours. We even walked all the way to Lizzys childhood home and back, over 3 miles total!

We enjoyed many more dates in and around the Twin Cities that summer and fall, such as mini-golfing at Can Can Wonderland, picnicking on Boom Island, getting Sebastian Joe’s ice cream, camping in Minneopa State Park in MN and Door County, WI. In fact, on the Door County camping trip, Brent told Lizzy he loved her for the first time!

A few months later, Brent had to move to Montreal, Canada for work. The idea of long distance was scary, but luckily, Lizzy’s remote job allowed her to travel to Canada to spend time with him. During this time, we were lucky enough to explore not only the beautiful city of Montreal, but also many other Canadian cities (Quebec City, Ottawa, Toronto, Halifax, Charlottetown, Banff, and more) and many road trips across the border to the US (Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, Maine).

We spent a total of 9 months living in Montreal together and then moved back to Minneapolis and moved into an apartment very close to the University of Minnesota campus (Lizzy’s alma mater!) and the iconic Stone Arch Bridge. We still had a lot of opportunities to travel - several times to Costa Rica (for Brent’s job), Los Angeles, San Francisco, the North Shore of MN, and several epic ski trips (Stowe, Jackson Hole, Big Sky, Quebec City, Keystone, Vail, Whistler, Alta, Snowbird).

We also love to hike and have hiked the tallest peak in 7 states (Minnesota, Vermont, New York, Hawaii, Arizona, North Carolina, and Texas) with a goal to hike all 50 state peaks!

On May 26, 2023, Brent proposed to Lizzy while on a trip to the Grand Canyon. He asked her to turn around so he could photograph her with the canyon and when she turned back around, he was down on one knee and asked her to spend the rest of their lives together. It was a joyous day and was capped off with a helicopter ride over the canyon. We were both on cloud 9 all day!

Shortly after, we bought a house in the Shingle Creek area of Minneapolis and moved in June 1, 2023. We are discovering the joys of home ownership and all that comes with it, such as mowing the lawn, painting, decorating, furnishing, and maintenance. Brent is becoming a frequent Menards customer!

A few months later, we bought a 2nd house and have turned it into a successful Airbnb in NE Minneapolis! We are on track to earn Superhost status based on the number of stays and the great reviews we are receiving from the guests.

We also have found joy in becoming Rovers, which means we get to watch other peoples dogs and get paid for it! We eventually want to adopt a dog of our own when the time is right.

We feel so lucky to have found each other and for the endless support we have received from our family and friends. We can’t wait for you to join us on our big day in Minneapolis on June 22nd, 2024!
